We probably should have a Louisiana thread for this. I just found out the Gorilla Glue lady is from Chalmette. I dunno how using a product on your hair that you didn't purchase in the hair styling products section of the store wasn't a clue but she thought this'd be a great DIY for hair spray.

When I was in high school, a friend put some kind of molding wax in his hair to make a funny hair styles, until it dried and stuck like concrete. I wasn't there, but another friend said they tried just about everything they could find to a way to soften it.. finally he had to go to the hospital because his scalp was in pain. I don't remember how they fixed it, but his new hair style was bald for a little while... I am sure he is really glad we didn't have social media then.

A woman who set her hair with Gorilla Glue after running out of hair spray has reportedly hired a lawyer to sue the company after a lengthy trip to the emergency room to remove the product proved to be unsuccessful.

Tessica Brown, 40, from Violet, Louisiana, spent 22 hours in the ER, where baffled healthcare workers put acetone on her head according to TMZ, but nothing seems to work.

Sources told the publication that the acetone burned her scalp and only made the glue sticky before it dried up again, leaving her with the same immovable hair she started with......


TMZ reported that Tessica has hired an attorney and looking into her legal options against Gorilla Glue because she thinks the spray adhesive's label is misleading.

The front of the Gorilla Glue adhesive spray bottle says it bonds fabric, paper, wood, metal, and more. While the label states it's an eye and skin irritant, it doesn't specifically mention hair.............

...........On Feb. 9, TMZ reported that Dr. Michael Obeng, a Harvard-trained, Los Angeles-based plastic surgeon was willing to help by doing a "lengthy procedure" on Brown's hair. While the specific details of the plan remain unclear, it will apparently take around two to three days to fully get rid of the Gorilla Glue.

Brown is planning to fly California on Wednesday to start the process, according to the publication. And while the removal is estimated to cost around $12,500, Dr. Obeng is reportedly providing the service pro bono........

A Florida man is facing hard-knock time for pretending to be associated with famous hip-hop group Wu-Tang Clan and Jay-Z’s Roc Nation company.
Aaron Barnes-Burpo, 29, of Crestview, Fla., was sentenced to seven years in federal prison Monday after his guilty plea for committing wire fraud, according to David H. Estes, acting U.S. attorney for the Southern District of Georgia.

Barnes-Burpo and co-conspirator Walker Washington, 52, who is awaiting sentencing, ran their scam for several weeks, Estes said.
The swindlers’ triumph came to a halt Nov. 21, 2019, when their so-simple deception seemed off to hotel staff at a Fairfield Inn and Suites in Augusta, Ga.

Barnes-Burpo claimed to be with Roc Nation, an entertainment and management company founded by Jay-Z, when he tried to book 10 rooms and have a $2,500 credit applied to a king suite for an artist and his entourage, according to the complaint. He would provide a credit card number for authorization as long as they didn’t charge it, he told staffers, because he was planning to pay with a certified check at the end of the stay.......
