Analyzing a Top-10 mock draft from PFN (1 Viewer)

I don't know Tyler, Tet is not a WR 1, no separation. He's very good, just not a Top 10 Pick.
I’ve never bought into the “no separation” narrative with Tetairoa. He’s not Justin Jefferson obviously creating separation, but he does well enough for his size in that regard. Especially when combined with his hands, body control, and catching radius. I like him more than a guy like Drake London who has done well so far in the NFL.

It's funny right around the time a single 10 second video, which for all we know was tongue in cheek, was posted on here all of a sudden Tet isn't good anymore.

I've never seen a draft where every single potential player is a bad one to pick for one reason or another.
- Jeanty (too soon for a RB, positional value) Ditto for Warren.
- The #1 OT's arms are too short and might have prevented sacks in college, but gave up too many pressures for a top 10 pick.
- #1 CB is too slow or injured or something (can't remember the Knock on Johnson)
- #1 WR don't like to watch film and would be a 2nd rounder in most other drafts. #2 WR is too small and is just a copy of the WRs we already have.
- All the DEs except Carter are "meh", too stiff, or they're underwear athletes that couldn't even produce in college.
- #9 pick is too valuable to spend on a guard, NT, or safety.
- And all the QBs are trash.

There's no consensus player we can all agree on. So trade back!!! Except, who's gonna wanna trade up for THESE bums?

We will draft somebody, the positional value might not be there or it might just be because we need a starter at a certain position.
Might even be a QB folks think of as a reach. Who knows?

I know I won't be upset or even overly excited by whoever we pick. I don't have a favorite to be honest, and whether or not they're wothy of a #9 pick,
I see a lot of plyers who could improve our roster. In the end, that's all that matters... all things considered.
This. Sweet mother of mercy this. This draft is funky. Usually a top 10 pick the board is loaded. Not this year. Like you mentioned, all the guys that are passing for blue chips in this draft are suspect. And I don't like the QBs. The one draft the Saints have a top 10 pick and it's this. Because of course. Most Saints thing ever.

All I know for sure is that a lot of people will hate the pick, some will love the pick, and most aren't going to know how to feel until they watch some highlight tapes and breakdowns about the player. So much depends on what Kiper and Mayock say about the dude. That and the SSF consensus. I talked myself into absolutely loving the Kenny Vaccaro pick back in the day because a lot of SSF draft gurus talked him up and there was a Sports Science video about him.

Yup, many don’t understand that a Slo-go is essential to a WR’s ability to dupe CBs, is as important as exploding off the line. Now just imagine if Tet actually was forced to watch film?!?! Dude can be a force

I’d gladly take Jeanty (for sure) or Warren at #9. I’d even ask the Cowboys how much they like Jeanty enough to move up, if not take him if he’s there

Mannnn I remember doing the same thing on the Vaccaro pick and watching the same Sports Science video. They did the same video for several other prospects, which made them look unworldly and I think it ended up being a fairly weak draft class.

Lol, neither. Other than it's like "look at this photograph"......but seeing 'nickleback' made my head go to the meme. Glad you got a chuckle.
C’mon…….everyone knows the lyrics to at least one song. Here’s a story. I was 21 years old and I had a roommate who could sing. Pretty interesting, cool, and unique guy. There were times I would come home late from hanging out at my GF’s house. I would routinely find him in the backyard, with a fire going, and some beer, but he would be in the process of singing. He would always stop singing when he would see me walk up. I would always sit down and he would beer me and we would talk and such. One night, I had an argument with my GF. The argument had me really really down. This particular night, once again he was in the backyard, with a fire, beers, and once again in the process of singing. As I sat down, I finally said to him….. “it’s ok man, just continue to sing”. He said “I take it that you and your girl had an argument”??? Guess it was written on my face or it was a wild guess. Either way, I told him to sing whatever, that i didn’t care. Dude started singing a song, but I kinda recognized the lyrics. Now granted he is a singer and he is not singing the song like it was in the radio. I take a swig of my beer, I then hear “I’ve been down to the bottom of every bottle” etc etc etc……and in my mind I thought “this is a Nickleback song and he actually makes it sound appealing. That’s when I knew that subconsciously I knew lyrics to one of their songs, but I just didn’t recognize the thought of that initially. So, bc I don’t want to be the only person to admit this, I am calling 🧢 on you saying that you don’t know their lyrics as well 🤣🤣🤣

Lol, great story. I don't hate on them, or change the channel if I hear, but I don't follow them. I'm an late 70s/80s child, so that's 95% of what I listen too.

All the hate on them is just lemming behavior IMO.

For me it was Steve Smiths comments. I'm not best at noticing the small details of WR's which is why I stay away from that position usually. But something always seemed "off" to me about him and Steve Smith kind of made the lights go on for me about what it was. A good receiver, doesn't excel in a full route tree and lacks separation.

I trust Steve Smith's evaluation of him more then pretty much anyone else.

Really, the only true, do it all and out play the defense WR in this draft seems to be Travis Hunter. If you watch Andrew Armstrong and Tet, you see they're almost identical in many ways other then size. Armstrong seemed to excel against zone while Tet against man is one obvious thing that stood out. And Armstrong did it against some of college's better defenses which leaves me scratching my head why mock drafts have Armstrong rated so low and Tet so high.
