Hasn't Lawrence also played in 4 more games than Dalton? So if Dalton is averaging 1.5 TDs a game along with 218 yards...that would give Dalton 872 more yards and 6 more TDs to go with his current numbers.

Let's put it this way:

Lawrence 66.0% comp. avg, 251 yrds/gm 1.7 TDs/gm .5 INTs/gm
Dalton 66.8 % comp. avg, 218 yrds/gm 1.5 TDs/gm .63 INTs/gm

So, how's Dalton rated that much higher than Lawrence?

Hold up you didn't say PFF passer grade, you said passer rating. His passer rating is solid, even comparable to the other guys on the list. You can just say you don't like him without mincing words.

That's what this thread is about, the PFF grades PFF rating Dalton higher than Burrow, Hurts, and Allen.

But whatever rating, grades, etc you want to look at, still the on-the-field numbers do not support Dalton being ahead of Hurts or Burrow.

It’s just another one of many metrics that shows he’s been better than average this season.

It's just another metric that really shows nothing. What good is to have more air yards than anyone else, when you consistently throw short passes on long 3rd downs?

But again, the point is that his performance hasn’t been the reason our record is so poor.

Surely it's been part of it.

I'm not a Dalton guy, but with just adequate coaching, he could legit be our bridge for a few years.

Completely disagree. Dalton has had a career season. His running game, protection, and WR have not played well. Dude has made fantastic plays all year.

He has NOT made FANTASTIC plays ALL YEAR. He's had some good ones sprinkled throughout the games and that's it. In fact, I'd say he probably has as many bad plays as good ones with a whole lot of average in there.

many times this season I’ve been impressed by Andy making a great throw, often under pressure and into tight windows. In comparison, there are relatively few times I’ve noticed really poor throws. Y’all are so spoiled from all those years with Brees you don’t know what poor quarterbacking even looks like.

There’s no objective measure on his personal overall performance that is “bad.” I’m fine with saying he’s average. Other metrics have him better than that.

We need to get better at the position. Period. But our record does not reflect his individual performance.

Take all the numbers you provided. Change them to “per game.” Subtract 3 games from Dalton’s total number in the denominator.

The numbers will be significantly different.
