I actually think they are doing a really good job with Arrow. It lost a little steam mid season but has really picked it back up. My only problem really is they are making him TOO much of a Batman clone. I know that's his role in the DCTVU complete with training almost every hero in the world, but he needs a little more of his own identity.
Yeah. I'd like to see him take a more hands-on role in training Laurel. She's been getting her butt kicked for most of this season it seems like because she only took some self-defense/cursory boxing classes from Wildcat. She doesn't need to be full-on ninja, but she should be more than a punching bag at this point if her friends know what she's doing and she knows their secrets. And I know that Arrow is basically TV Batman and Flash is "the fun one," but I'd like to see them take some joy in what they do. I was on board with what was happening last night; Ollie being outed, hideouts being burned, him sacrificing himself so that his crew would be safe and effectively removing whatever leverage Ra's had over him. They could've taken that and kind of revamped a little bit. Oliver could've gotten out of whatever criminal charges he was going to face (maybe by proving the existence of a copycat frame job), and afterwards they could've gotten a new base of operations, updated some costumes, lightened him up a little bit without the weight of a secret identity over his head (and you can't really threaten his loved ones except for Felicity, they can all take care of themselves). Then Roy stepped in.
