Arrow - Spoilers galore (1 Viewer)

Well, I just meant most annoying on Arrow. Iris is, by far, the most annoying character in the DCCWTVU.

Wondering if there should be a merged Arrow/Flash thread, or with the spin-off coming up, a general discussion thread...

A DCTVU thread like the MCU one would be nice.

The Laurel hate is so last season. The character has become far more likeable. It's Captain Lance that has taken up the "most annoying" mantle.

The thing about Lance is, I did think he was a more interesting character before he was all buddy buddy with Team Arrow. Once he was in on things (I don't mean the early "I'll work with you but don't trust you" stuff. I mean the whole post him knowing about Sara being in the League period) he kind of didn't have a whole lot to do. But the way they've handled his turning on them is pretty illogical. I get that he's acting out of grief and thus logic doesn't so much apply, but it's SO illogical and forced from a narrative standpoint that it's almost frustrating.

Again, I think he's a character they kind of lost their way with and they're trying to take him back to what worked better, but it doesn't really make a whole lot of sense for him to go back there as a character.

I honestly think both Arrow and The Flash feel the need to make certain "good" characters insufferable. Lance has a slight pass because he lost Sara twice. Then was lied to about it. But, originally, they made people hate Laurel, then Felicity was a pain. And Iris on Flash? Die already.

Love me some Katie Cassidy.

***SPOILER***

I read Roy Harper/Arsenal might make appearances in either The Flash or the upcoming team up spin off. Ray/Atom gave both Felicity/Oliver and Roy's car quite the look. I expect he will be on his way out soon and we will see him on the spin off too.

I also checked to see if Willa Holland is leaving too but there was no news of that. I assume Oliver will take Ra's place to put her in the Lazarus pit.

Since Ra's told her, "He will beg me," this has to be where they're going - or at least where Ra's is trying to make Oliver go.

Really liked this episode. I know somehow Ollie will eventually get out of being Al Sah Him, but I'm looking forward to his initiation into The League and just how he gets out(final battle with Ra's?).

Also, the new outfit is bad***.

Finally caught up and good for Ollie for finally getting him some Felicity strange...

This show is probably the closest we'll get to a well done Batman on TV. Don't know how many times we can see Oliver be stopped before almost killing a friend, but I am uncertain about this season's endgame, and that's good.

Waiting for season 2 on Netflix. Why did I read this? The "I love u" scene was so awkward in the season 1 finale. Glad they explained it away in a "turn of events"...

That felt like a series finale. Didn't hate it, but don't care for the fact that this whole season has basically been more about Olicity than anything else. Loved Thea going full Speedy and The Atom tease.

"The city's under attack. Must be May." Line of the night by Lance.

Yeah, this season as a whole was a little down. It felt like it was picking up the last 3 or 4 episodes, and the finale wasn't bad. But it wasn't great, either. Random episodes of the Flash are better, and last night's SHIELD was a GOAT. A little hard to compare I guess. Fingers crossed that this doesn't end with Felicity getting tragically killed because she's with Oliver to heap more angst on him. Like I said earlier in the thread, he doesn't have to be dropping one-liners every other line and shooting boxing glove or glue arrows, but I wouldn't mind if he was a little happier as a character.

Agree about The Flash and SHIELD. This finale just felt like it was missing something. It did leave me wanting to know what will happen next season, so I suppose it accomplished that, but this whole season just didn't do it for me as much as the first two.

Haven't watched it yet, but Marc Guggenheim said they were absolutely going for the feel of a series finale because of how much the show's direction is going to shift in season 4. In essence, it was supposed to be the book closing on Arrow as we've known it, even though it will continue.

As to the show's season, it was very up and down. I think one of the major things that hurt this season was the flashback scenes. They just weren't remotely interesting this time around. I'd find myself getting distracted any time they'd shift into flashback, unlike the previous two seasons where I was nearly as engaged by those storylines as I was the present day stuff.

Felicity really floundered as a character this season, too.

Will watch the finale probably tomorrow. Still like the show, but it was just completely overshadowed by The Flash this season. Every episode of The Flash was appointment viewing, whereas I let myself get behind on Arrow episodes several times.
