I can't believe I missed that during the show!"The city's under attack. Must be May." Line of the night by Lance.
The CW has cast Neal McDonough as the previously unseen villain Damien Darhk in Arrow Season 4.
Though he hasn’t yet been seen on screen, Darhk did play a role in Arrow Season 3, described by Ra’s Al Ghul as an ally turned enemy.
The Arrow producer describe Darhk as “a mysterious and sophisticated villain, and an adversary of the late Ra’s Al Ghul. Now the leader of his own clandestine group, this cunning foe will prove to be one of the Arrow’s greatest challenges.”
While speaking with IGN at Comic-Con International, "Arrow" star Stephen Amell, Emily Bett Rickards and EP Wendy Mericle discussed where last season left off, where next season will pick up, Thea's transformation into Speedy -- and whether there's a chance John Constantine will appear on the show.
"We really want to do it," Mericle replies when asked if Matt Ryan may bring his portrayal of the conman magician from the cancelled NBC series to the CW show. "It's something we've been talking to DC [Entertainment] about, and it's just a question of some political things, but also the actor's schedule. We're trying to work it out, but we don't know 100 percent if it's going to happen."
"Fingers crossed" Amell interjected.
"But we're really optimistic and we would love to have him" Mericle concluded.
As we are getting closer to the fourth season of The CW’s Arrow, more information and casting announcements are coming out. Earlier today, it was announced that Parker Young has been cast as Thea Queen’s (Willa Holland) new love interest, and now, just a few hours later, The Wrap has revealed that Rutina Wesley (Hannibal, True Blood) has booked a multi-episode arc on the series. However, her character wasn’t revealed in their exclusive report, which is also intriguing, given the time of the announcement, with The CW having its session tomorrow at the ongoing Television Critics Association summer press tour.
Our go-to-speculation is that Wesley could be portraying the live-action version of Mari McCabe, a.k.a. Vixen, who will be kicking off her animated series (set in the Arrow/The Flash universe) later this month on CW Seed, where she will be voiced by Megalyn Echikunwoke. We speculated back then that Echikunwoke could potentially play the character on Arrow, The Flash or even DC’s Legends of Tomorrow should the producers bring her in this season, since she is the voice of the character.
Matt Ryan, who starred in NBC's cancelled "Constantine" show, will reprise his role as the Hellblazer on The CW's "Arrow" as a guest star, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Ryan will appear in the fifth episode of the upcoming fourth season.
"We are thrilled to have Matt Ryan reprise the role of John Constantine on an upcoming episode of Arrow," executive producer Marc Guggenheim said in a statement. "Matt is an incredibly talented actor and his portrayal of this beloved character was always something we admired. The introduction of magic and mysticism on the show this season has provided a truly organic opportunity for us to bring John Constantine to 'Arrow' and the CW’s DC universe. It will be a well-deserved tip of the hat to all the Constantine fans who were so incredibly supportive of that series."
