Arrow - Spoilers galore (1 Viewer)

Something else: over the last two episodes, I've noticed that some characters are pronouncing it "Raysh Al Ghul" while others are pronoucing it "Rahz Al Ghul." I find this funny, as this is a very old debate amongst comic fans. For what it's worth, there's not really a right answer. It would be pronounced closer to the latter in Arabic and closer to the former in Hebrew. Denny O'Neil, who created the character, always intended it to be "Raysh," but plenty of DC media has used "Rahz" over the years, too. Just wondering if that was intentional on their part or just the actors reading it differently.

This kind of bothers me, but I think it may just be an in-joke/fanboy nod at this point. In one of Amell's Facebook videos last year(by the way, this dude is way more interactive on FB than most celebrities), he kind of expressed a slight annoyance that the producers had decided it would be pronounced "Rahz" on the show, but then the actress that plays Nyssa called him "Raysh." Of the mentions of Ra's before Nyssa showed up, it was always "Rahz."

Glad Thea and Laurel are not as annoying anymore, but really wish they would put Slade in his mercenary role, rather than still pining for Shado.

They just aren't even trying to mask the fact that they're using Arrow as a poor man's Batman in their TV universe at this point with that ending. Still, good episode. This season's been a bit aimless, but this could give it some direction to finish it out right.

Agree with the poor man's Batman remark, but disagree that this season has been aimless. The producers said this season has been about identity, and with tonight's ending I think it just brings that to the forefront. Looking forward to the backend episodes, and, hopefully, one last sword fight between Ollie and Ra's.

It's long been clear that they were sort of Batman-izing Arrow, but the Arrow/Flash crossover really made it obvious that they're using those two characters as proxies for the Batman/Superman relationship. You've got the brighter, superhuman, more optimistic, "I'm a hero because it's the right thing to do" type (Barry/Superman) and the darker, grittier, vengeance-driven, super skilled human that's willing to cross certain lines and is more of a vigilante (Oliver/Batman).

But yeah, the ending of this episode was definitely the exclamation point on that. Which is fine. It's not particularly true to the Green Arrow of the comics, but it works for the TV universe they're creating.

I'm still on season one but almost done. The detective guy is the reason I keep watching. His faces! This show is so unorthodoxly good...:ezbill:
