I think I'm OK with the Monitor angle, but...Felicity was told it's a one way ticket, then how does she get back? And why not Arrow? It's just weird. Unless the Monitor placed conditions on her returning to Earth. She's in the flash forward scenes. How did she get there?

Maybe you're right. It just seemed like she had to make a tough choice and that there was no going back. Maybe I misunderstood what he was saying.

I'll go back and watch that part again soon but that's how I understood it.

I may have to rewatch as well. My understanding was that 2019 Oliver left to help The Monitor. Felicity stayed behind, then the flashforward version went to join Ollie wherever he ended up.

Also, I'm likely over thinking this, but The Monitor told Oliver, "a life for a life" to make the deal to save Barry and Kara. That's two, so Felicity seems to be part of the deal. Her time just came later.

I guess we'll see what happens during the crossover, which I'm looking forward to, have never disappointed, and I hope includes all the main shows.

Ah, if it's the flash forward Felicity, then that makes more sense. I was thinking it was the current Felicity because it was so soon after the scene when Oliver left, which threw me off. That clears it up. Good recap.

It's absolutely future Felicity. Whether the rest of my interpretation is correct could easily be wrong.

I would guess it has more to do with the deal he made with The Monitor, not a physical impossibility.
