Aside from DA is anyone really happy with Kubiak's play calling? (3 Viewers)

Having to rely on the Center to call the protections and blocking schemes and then losing said Center is also a crippling blow. I fully understand not every QB is Brees, Brady, or Manning, but for the amount of cap even tier 3 QBs are now consuming, it feels insulting when a QB getting an AAV of $37.5m a year can't handle those calls.
Not only losing the center, but the guy behind him. We had to go find a center who wasn't on a roster. The line has been an absolute mess this season. They were better yesterday, but it's the Panthers.

I'm giving KK a pass this season. The 1st two games were great. Then we all know what happened. He's not gonna have the same offense without the same players, the players the offense was built around. Now take away their backups and then some and this is what you get.
I agree - I’d like to see what he does with some positive personnel changes.

This is his chance, he needs to call an aggressive and creative offense. Most of all I want to see NO attempt to play winning football. I'm not down with tanking

His play calling is predicated on the availability of his players.

There were a few game where he called games to protect Penning with the TE, there as been games where he called games because the run game was not working....it's to early to access his play calling but this particular scheme works and we have seen it work.

In fairness to Kubiak, there were a lot more injuries on the offensive side of the ball, especially early on....plus DA was here....

Kind of tough to evaluate him fairly, same with Rattler.....we will see how the rest of the year goes but it may not matter....most coaches want to hire their own staff anyways.....

Well anyone saying the play calling is the main issue or even a small part of the big problems, yea that’s ridiculous.

However, I said what I said and anyone that understands what they are watching knows the play calling didnt go from being the best offense in the league the first two weeks to what it is just because of injuries. Anyone who thinks that is being borderline just hard headed, we will leave it at that.

Part of it is we played two of the worst teams in the league with almost as much dysfunction as us

We caught them by surprise

Our defense really complemented our offense bc of the crap teams we were playing

And so on. Then the league adjusted, we played better opponents etc. A MAJOR reason for the more vanilla style play calling after that was also due to injury. It’s ridiculous to think this team or offense looks just like this all bc of injuries. Teams deal with injuries all the time and don’t fall completely off the map. We were never as good as we looked the first two weeks with or without the injuries.
I would agree if it wasn't for the fact that we lost the most starters in the league.

I like running the ball. But, especially as the receivers have gone down, I would like to see all three tight ends on the field. Let them hit three levels of the defense. Hook one up. One down the seem. One in the flat. Move the chains. The fourth down call was what I hate, And the previous coaches did it with Brees and I still hated it. On third and especially on fourth down, don't run a dang twenty-yard fade. If three receivers are out and the line to gain is five yards, two of them need to be in that five-to-ten-yard range. Sometimes coaches just over think it. At 2-7, I hope they don't wear out Kamara and Hill shouldn't get any running back carries at all. Bring up Kibodi to pound it. Give the kid a chance. When everyone was healthy, it was fun to watch. The key is running the ball.

Kubiak will be the next head coach if DA is fired and Loomis stays. We hire in house.

Loomis hired Payton and that wasn’t in house.

The actual answer is we don’t know what’s going to happen.

How about we'll see with the albatross gone maybe we'll see more take-what-the-defense-is-giving, more players benched whose heads not in the game.

Doesn't matter. He won't be retained when the new coach comes in....or very doubtful he's retained, especially after the way the offense presented this season.

From where it was with Pete Carmichael, it is by far 1000% better. No one was complaining about Kubiak's offensive play calling after the first 2 weeks. Then injuries happened and happened again. Can't blame Kubiak for this. If the injuries had not occurred, records were set to be broken. And this was with Carr as the QB. I believe Carr is at best an average QB. With the Saints he has 0 two minute game winning drives. He is horrible under pressure. Yet, when given time, he is actually pretty darn good. Good deep ball, strong arm and accurate when given time. Can't throw on the run.

I only state this about Carr to emphasize that Kubiak is dealing with an average QB, and for most of the year a make shift offensive line. Yet, when he had the entire line intact, with this very average QB, this offensive averaged 45.5 points per game. (Only 2 weeks).

So Kubiak has done a great job with the cards he has been dealt. I would love to see him stay on with the new coach, get a stable offensive line and a above average QB, preferably a mobile one, who can also pass on the run.

I agree with everything you said except about DC. In his career, he has had 28 comeback wins and 35 game winning drives. It's not him. He had PC as an OC and minimal weapons at his disposal with the Saints. And it not accurate that he can't throw on the run
