At what point is execution a coaching problem? (1 Viewer)

This is actually one of the plays I wanted to look at this week, here is a good angle:

And here are a few failed screens from last week for your viewing pleasure.

It just seems beyond silly to me that we are attempting them on 2nd and 2 as if it's our bread and butter. Like bro we can't run them, and thats what we are dialing up.

Pete isn't the detailed coach that Payton was and it has a trickle down effect with accountability.

The quote from Lutz after joining Denver said all that needs to be said. “I truly feel like my best years were with him because I was kind of scared to let him down.

No ones scared to let Allen or Carmichael down, specifically Carmichael because the defense while having moments of meh, still has carried their weight this year. It has the players searching for accountability with each other, the whole narrative of "not letting each other down" that used to be a "we can't let Sean down".
You are totally correct. I have been quoting AK since last yr when he said "Fear has left the building when SP left" And not fear like I'm gonna punch you in the mouth. Fear like if I don't do my job and perform SP will replace me. And EVERYONE knew when you were on SP's bad side. PC could be cerebral and not motivational with PC . DA could even play soft until SP jumped his butt and said blitz somebody.
DA is soft milquetoast. Holds no one accountable, not coaches , not players NO ONE has any fear they will lose their jobs except maybe Penning
PC is not a strong figure coach and having milquetoast DA makes it worse and players will follow the lead of the HC and the rest of the coaching staff

Was anyone expecting sound coaching from this staff at the start of the season? Was anyone expecting positive results out of comically incompetent coaching?

This is who they are, this is what they are. What we have seen out of this team has been fools gold.

Tbf, Allen took accountability for the loss, saying “it’s on me” and “I have to get them more consistent.

But for the most part, he always tells the media about the players doing some good things and how he’s going to evaluate. He doesn’t call out certain units or players at all in the media during times when he should so you’re right.

Nickel and safety play could’ve at least been mentioned as a position group for their bad play vs Vikings. I think the Olave go route in the Jaguars game is the only time he said a player did something wrong to the media.
So how many "It's On Me" press conferences does it take to make a change?

Well he can't block before the pass is caught. Seems like strange way to set that play up, bringing a TE from the other end of line would require perfect timing.
Pass is behind the line you can block whenever you want

Saw this play highlighted. I remember seeing it live and thinking that Rasheed was about to run a long way. Instead, Juwan whiffs his block and it goes nowhere.

Obviously that’s execution, but at what point are these repeated screw-ups by skill position players on the coaches? How are WRs still ending up in the same spot so much? How are we still seeing routes run improperly?

To me it speaks to the standards of what are acceptable effort reps during practice and install / scrimmage periods

Don’t forget that we are top 5 in the league in penalties as well. We have guys lining up offsides…. On offense. This is a discipline and accountability issue that stems from a lack of paying attention to detail…. With no consequences for failure. That’s all coaching. Rather a lack thereof.

Payton's Saints: Aggressive, Swagger, Disciplined, Creative, Fun.

Allen's Saints: Lackadaisical, Undisciplined, Boring, Unidentifiable, Sporadic.

Loomis needs to make a change after this season. I don't see this improving, because the team is a direct product of the mindset and attitudes of the coaching staff. I do not want to return to my Grandpa's Saints. We've made too much progress under Payton/Brees to return to a 8-9 team that players come to coast and retire.

We have a great screen back in Kamara but we can't even seem to set up a screen correctly. Running a screen is football 101.

Coaching is inept. Simple as that.
