Kind of a long winded post, but here goes. Brady, Brees, Rodgers and Manning kind of ruined for everyone got a while. These guys had superior arm talent and mechanics and led to them all having long, productive careers. In recent history, once qbs hit that mid 30's number, they were done and the team was looking for their next guy.
I'll bring up Cam Newton now, he was a dual threat guy that really relied on his legs. Once he hit his 30's that pop was gone and he had to rely on his arm and mechanics that he never truly developed and that led to him being benched and pretty much out of football at a relatively young age.
The point of this is you can draft these dual threat guys and know that they're going to give you a few great years of production, but if they never develop as a pocket passer, they're going to be out of league at an early age. You can draft a guy like AR and have, possibly, a great dual threat guy for 7-8 years, but just know that you'll be looking for another QB sooner than later. It's not racist, it's just the style of play. If Allen doesn't become better as a pocket passer, then he's the next Cam Newton. Same for Lamar, we saw how injuries can derail a season with him last year.
Mahommes and Burrow are what you want. If you took away their legs, they could still shred you through the air, those two qb's are so rare in today's NFL. Hurts has the potential to be that because I've seen that kid progress monumentally in the last few years as a passer.
