Baldur's Gate 3 - and here I didn't think E3 had anything for me. (1 Viewer)

The wife and I are going to buy BG3 at Thanksgiving to start playing together. Any tips or advice for playing a Duo? I will likely play a High Elf Cleric and she will likely be a High Elf Wizard.
You will have options for your other party members... Decide if you wanna be good or bad as a team. While most of the choices are character driven, they do affect your alignment as a party overall. So if you have one playing an arse and the other playing "lawful" they will likely not mesh well when the one being lawful is treated like the one being an arse.

Yeah, I got up to get some Iced tea in the kitchen and came back to my wife fighting a bunch of Ox, next thing you know the whole Druid grove was slaughtered and folks are telling us to go F Off. She said it was a suspicious Ox and there was some rolling for something, so who knows what the truth was. Regardless, there are a number of quests now marked as completed, because the person we were supposed to talk with was slaughtered in a WTF is happening sort of moment. That meant we had no where to sell all the crap loot we each pick up, so then we were easily encumbered. I did start sending things back to camp to lighten up, but now I need to get all that crap out and sell/unload it.

There have been a few dialog rolls that didn't quite go our way leading to some unexpected outcomes. I got to watch my wife have sex with a green chick, so that was pretty cool. Combat is taking us some time to figure out, I am still not sure about all of the various conditions and how they affect the rolls, but slowly and surely we will get there.

The new patch as added about 30% more data. Thats nuts. Many devs would have made that a DLC and charged money. Great game

Well that's good, they perfected their RPG engine over the course of 3 games, they can license it maybe.

“That’s not what we were made for,” Vincke said. “That’s literally the opposite of what Larian is about. We want to do big, new things. We don’t want to rehash the thing that we’ve done already.”

Not shocking. They got their big hit and now want to do other things. I also can't imagine dealing with the train wreck that is Hasbro/WOTC right now is easy. I look forward to what Larian does next.

The engine is a small part of what makes the game great. The dialogue and little details are what made it great, and those will be difficult for other people to create, partiularly if they're focused on the gameplay.

That's great, but I'd bet good money their next game will be DOS 3, which would not be a "new thing" I think more likely they don't want to have to kick back that $90,000,000 to Hasbro and think they have enough reputation to go it alone, which they might. But the Divinity games just didn't resound with me like this one did, so it will be a net loss to me personally
