Battlestar Galactica Discussions (MERGED)

Man that was a snoozer of an episode until the very end.

Two things came from that: 1) Galactica's in serious trouble. That near space jump knocked a hell of a hole in her. 2) Starbuck, I think is going to be key. Who the heck is she?

My take on Starbuck - remember when they were talking about the 13th Cylon - the one Cavil boxed early on? He's her father. The reason he disappeared was because Cavil came and got him (and boxed him).

Now as to why Starbuck (apparently) regenerated after having (apparently) crashed on "Earth" (and, no, I'm not convinced the planet they found Earth - not our Earth, at least). That's a huge mystery, yet. I think that there's someone else out there - remnants of the old civilization, perhaps. But there has to be another regeneration ship out there somewhere that, somehow, managed to regenerate Starbuck. And they've got technologies that can, and probably will, come to the rescue in the end.

Oh man... the 13th Cylon.. Daniel, Starbuck's Dad.. Interesting twist..

Yep, that's my guess too. 'Daniel' was her father, hence the Starbuck/Hera connection (they're both half-Cylon, half-Human). Ellen also described Daniel as being a gentle, artistic type, which fits with the way her father's been described. This could also help give Starbuck closure by explaining why her father 'disappeared'; perhaps he was killed by Cavil when he took out that line.

O.k. so I'm diggin' the whole Daniel was her father thing.. but that sure doesn't explain how she died, and then came back in a new ship and a new body

I sure hope some of these visions get explained.. why does the President have visions.. why does Baltar have head 6, why did Athena, 6, and the President all have the same vision..

We know that it is possible for natural-born Cylons to learn to resurrect, since that's what the Final Five did to survive the devastation of Earth. Perhaps half-Cylons like Hera and Starbuck can as well? Are the bodies just lying around, or are they grown 'on demand'.

After all, Cavil doesn't seem to know how resurrection actually works, hence his need for Ellen and the five to rebuild the Hub.

i'm thinking the visions are cylon projections.

Which gives us Head 6, two Head Baltars, and a Head Daniel.

since cylons are software, i wonder if the head people are like deleted files sitting a recycling bin in the human brain. marked for deletion but not actually deleted, hence their reoccurance.

I don't know. We've seen them physically interact with stuff, exhibit knowledge that the person 'seeing' them didn't know, and there's still the whole "Shelley Godfrey" incident from season 1. These suggest to me that the head people come from some outside source.

Oh, yeah, that whole cylon projection thing was something that could add a nice twist to the ending - or, at least, close up some plot holes.

They're auctioning off the props to the show, including the last tube of Tauron toothpaste that Starbuck offered to the first pilot who spotted a habitable planet.

A closeup revealed that it's "Feldercarb Toothpaste."

"Feldercarb," as you may recall, was the made-up word, used in the orignal series in place of the word manure, or crap, or ****.

Not sure I'd want toothpaste made from that. LOL!

LOL I saw the Feldercarb.. and thought to myself that was some kind of curse word from the original series. Did not remember it being a specific curse word.. that's funny.
