Battlestar Galactica Discussions (MERGED)

Am I the only one who thinks Helo and Athena are close enough that Helo should have realized that wasn't Athena? He should have registered that there was definitely something off.

No doubt.. otherwise, it seems he would have had problems, what with the other sharon models running around ? or is there no other sharon models other than boomer and athena on the galactica/base ship ?

Obviously there are or the Chief would have had no one to conk on the head and smuggle into the brig. That whole scene and aftermath had me feeling physically ill, as Athena is easily my favorite character on the show.

Maybe, but remember that the first time we saw Athena she was impersonating Boomer and seducing Helo. It's not unprecedented for one Sharon to successfully impersonate another.

There was also that slightly creepy moment on the baseship when one of the 8's came up and started massaging Helo's shoulders exactly like Athena did...exactly. Turned out the other 8's had all been downloading Athena's memories and living her life in their minds.

I really didn't like this episode - I found myself starting to fast-forward through parts of it. They've done better jobs in the past in setup shows - if that's what this show was. I don't know the best way to describe it - maybe to soap opera-y.

I didn't catch that Starbuck's father was named Daniel - I kept trying to read that case but never could. That was her father she was playing with at the piano. and the song she learned as a child is the same song that called to the 5.

True enough, but at the time he thought he was left stranded on Caprica with a bunch of Toasters.. And at the time he was unaware of skin jobs, much less other "Sharon" models.
And of course later on, when he does find out, he shoots Athena :)

I'll give it time for everybody who DVR'd it to watch first.

But, I've got to say I never thought they'd actually throw in a scene of Starbuck talking to Baltar while she's sitting on the can...complete with realistic sound effects. :hihi:

Yup, sure enough.. which makes me ask the question, why are there no toilets on the Enterprise ???? I guess maybe in their utopian universe, not only does no one need any money, no one uses the bathroom.

And what was that with Laura telling Bill to turn to a page in her book to reveal her secret last stash and them lighting up and tokking like a couple of geriatric hippies, discussing what's important in life? :hippy:

Yeah, it's probably the butt of the same jay they lit up when they were sitting on New Caprica, dreaming of a cabin by a stream.

Good episode, even if I would rather have them be ramping up for the finale more instead of having a relatively slow episode. Also, does anyone else think they're going to the "Adama breakdown" well a little to often now? The first few times it really meant something, because this was Bill Adama dammit, but now it's just played out.

Ahhhh, nothing like the taste of an old, dried out, already been smoked stogey.

This was my first thought as well, when he started freakin' out while painting.. reminded me of when he first found out Ty was a cylon.

Can anyone tell me when they post the new episodes online? I didn't get to see it last night and its not on Hulu or Scifi.com yet.

Thx

It makes sense even if it's lost most of it's impact. There's only so much stress a person can take before cracking and that theme has been a big part of the show since the beginning. Plus it makes the big suicide seeming mission that's coming up seem much more realistic. Adama sees his ship and his woman on their last legs and decides "Frack it. Blaze of glory time."
