Bills fan here..... Joe Brady (21 Viewers)

You say look at Joe Brady at Carolina but we've seen first hand the effect a bad head coach has. They override the coordinators.

As for Josh Allen makes coordinators look good but y'all just fired your offensive coordinator mid-season 1 year ago because in fact Josh Allen couldn't make him look good.
So , Dorsey was fired after 10 games in 23. In those 10 games the O avg 26.4 ppg. Brady took over and in 5 games they avg 27ppg . What a whopping increase.
McDermott was on the hot seat and as usual the OC is the scapegoat.

This is called playing the results and stripping away context

Who were the opponents? What were the home/road splits? How did the players respond?

I think it's definitely a good idea to taper expectations when you have someone who is leaving a HOF type talent. In NYC, I think Daboll's biggest issue is that he thought he could turn Jones into Allen. And they wasted a few years doing that.

The scheme Brady has come up with to hide the lack of any #1 or #2 type WR this year has been impressive, though. I know it's really frustrating to see the offensive numbers be so low this year, but there really isn't much outside of Allen and Cook to work with. I said last night that I was shocked that Buffalo was able to score on that Baltimore D with the limited offensive weapons they have. That's as much on the coordinator as it is Allen.

Still, I do have hesitation with Brady given that his best years have been with LSU Burrow and NFL Allen. But sometimes, you just have to take a chance. It really can't get much worse around here than it already is.
Fair, but remember how Drew seemed to turn UDFA’s into playmakers regularly? Great QBs do that, and while the scheme factors into that, Allen plays the biggest part in that happening.

I agree w/ the OP. McCarthy is probably our best bet. Him or Rizz

He's got three more rings to go then and he may not last as long or make it to late 30s in his prime.

Also Montana does not think Brady is the GOAT.
TB12 never had a 3 peat and he’s a serial cheater. As far as we know, Mahomes’ legacy isn’t marred with asterisks. Give me the guy who is winning without scandal

How the players responded is irrelevant. They responded by scoring .4 more ppg. Just look @ 22 Dorsey had the Bills with the # 4 ranked O. You think Dorsey forgot how to be a good OC in a yr? McDermott had to shake things up he was on the hot seat

I’m not. I’d like to see Mahomes get the 3-Peat. Whatever it takes to get the GOAT title from that cheater TB12.
People can say whatever they want, but w all know Brees was a better QB than Brady. Brees never had the defensive support that Brady enjoyed.
Some will talk about the records of Brees that Brady broke, but it must be noted it took him two full extra seasons to do it. That's its own sort of cheating.

Don't fall in the trap that the Giants did and hire Joe Brady.... Daboll has been mediocre at best with the Giants after everyone thought Daboll made Allen. Well now there is a body of work of Josh Allen with different coordinators......Look at Joe Brady in the NFL at other jobs.... Take out college cause LSU was absolutely stacked with talent.... But look at him with Carolina...he stunk...Josh Allen makes coordinators look good....not the other way around....

The only question mark with Brady is whether or not he's a leader of men. This team needs a leader of men. I would prefer an offensive playcaller HC tho. Brady has elevated that offense pretty nicely.

So basically how Moore was the scapegoat for McCarthy?

Brady's first full year with a full off-season improved the team to 29 PPG despite losing Stefon Diggs and replacing him with draft pick Keon Coleman. 3rd best in the league, up from 8 with Dorsey.

McCarthy's job was not on the line like McDermott's was or Eberflus's. MM took playcalling away from Moore because he didn't run the ball more. He said that the offense was too fast and didn't give the D enough time to rest.
