I thought it was a nice touch .. that shot was a pain in the a** to get though, it was freaking hot on the roof of my building at lunchtime and i was sweating like a pig after only 5 minutes .

Nah, im not even familiar with them- is that the team Messi plays for ? Picked up that shirt and another for 300 Thai baht altogether (about $4 each) at a local Bangkok dept store called Big C.. speaking of soccer though, ive been meaning to figure out a club to support but i still pay too much attention to American football to really get invested into soccer.. i have two friends back home who are really into soccer, one Leeds and other Arsenal .. i thought maybe Liverpool since im a Beatles fan since im 7 yrs old, and they have that connection.. but they seem to be doing well and im hoping for a little more of a ground floor opportunity, like the Lions or Browns or something .

Ground floor is difficult- you might hook up with a team that gets relegated (sent down to lower level) making it that much harder to follow

Fulham would be my suggestion- right in the middle of the table with 2 yanks on the team

I’d started with Nottingham Forest this year bc yanks but also Robin Hood
But that pick has been kinda boring

Arsenal isn’t a bad pick this year The reasons why are maybe more convoluted than you’re interested in atm

Well if you are looking for a ground floor opportunity- Manchester United is mid table, new coach from Portugal, Ruben Amorim. You can start there.

I imagine there are tons of MUFC gear around Thailand too.

It's okay, I understand. I just misunderstood the tone. And hey, it's perfectly fine to discuss serious things on here sometimes, whether its ranging from organized religion, gun control, inflation, or even the war in Ukraine (which has been discussed admirably on its EE thread for nearly 3 years now). As long as it could be done and while I recognize that isn't always easy, their have to be enough people to discuss it with cooler heads, otherwise it never gets solved or no one ever gets a good sense to understanding it. Besides, the EE thread is exactly living up to what its purpose was intended to be: discussing essentially everything else other then Saints football or Politics (which have their own boards/forums). I don't mind discussing ancient Rome or Greece, interpreting Nietzsche, Kant, Rousseau, or Voltaire, or Flavius Josephus (I plan on buying Antiquities of the Jews/The Jewish Wars for Christmas; some ancient and modern Jewish rabbinical scholars/even secular Jewish historians consider him a traitor) or pre-historical Neolithic hunter-gatherers establishing this planet's first small, sedentary-scale farming/agricultural communities which then lead to first "proto-cities" then city-states and then civilizations.

Football is this nation's most popular sport and while it has more then its fair share of flaws, when we see witness great games, watch unbelievable indidivual statistical achievements like Barkley rushing for the 5th most yards in a single NFL regular-season game in history last night, it's truly magical and transcendent and reveals one example, among many, at how still great this country can still be when it comes together.

Yeah i dont know much about soccer but even i know that Man U seems kind of suspect .

But efil you are correct there are tons of soccer fans in Bangkok and all kinds of gear from different clubs.. most of the expats ive met here are from the UK and from Australia so it makes sense i guess .. very very few American football fans here .

if you want to follow yanks playing in Europe, Serie A (the Italian league) is the place to go - notably AC Milan and Juventus is the place to look
