FWIW, I like the concept of Bobby- local dude, down the road to a fault, unique among the NFL radio broadcasters. But... the reality of Bobby is quite another thing- (too)drunk, simple, repetitive and absolutely not objective. He makes the uber fans from Dulac that share my row in the Dome sound like William F. Buckley.
And much of this could be forgiven if he offered any, absolutely any, insight that wasn't widely available elsewhere. The pregame show is even worse now that he prepares a little scripted introduction, rattling of some number salad of stats while demonstrating the reading aloud skills of a 3rd grader.
As the Saints have earned unprecedented success after success, Bobby has become more and more out of control. I miss the old, somewhat humble Bobby that was off the cuff but seemed to understand the editorial limitations of his job. The absolute best part of the broadcast now is the lead in, where Bobby is (pitifully) introduced as having led the Saints to their first playoff appearance, and then interjects with the epistemologically inarguable "I know what I know". Ok Bobby.

It’s a really bad look for Louisiana to have Bobby anywhere near a microphone. He’s an opinionated drunken mental midget. I heard his comment. The other announcer told him that wasn’t cool to say. And Bobby doubled, tripled and quadrupled down on saying he hopes Apple goes to IR so he could say his favorite drunk slur of the day.....jack rabbit.

I'd say its incredibly appropriate for a Louisiana boy to be a drunken, opinionated, mental midget. I've lived here in Louisiana almost my entire life and I'd say that describes about 70% of the guys I know (probably describes myself too. lol)

That said, I'd be completely okay with them ditching Hebert. He's a loudmouth and doesn't listen to callers and other announcers in discussions. One moment that comes to mind is before the Rams game, another voice very clearly asks him about the impact that Jared Cook could have on the game. He loudly goes on a rant about how Jared Goff is trash and isn't as good as Drew Brees..yadda..yadda..yadda.. When he gets corrected and asked about Jared Cook, he's like "Oh, he's pretty good. He'll probably do something in this game"

We did give up a lot of points in those playoff games. Defense didn't perform like a top D. Build a team around D and running game then expect the QB to win it for you in the playoffs.

Wont happen. His ego has taken hold. He refers to himself as the father of the WHo Dat Nation, tells everyone in his opening segment " i know what i know". To apologize would be to acknowledge that he made a mistake and was wrong. I hope he can. but folks like him dont ted to learn from mistakes and are doomed to repeat it.

I think it would be best if he simply relegated himself to a pod cast. Let pros step in and do Saints talk.

I'd rather hear from guys that actually know more than me. I'm not sure if he would qualify as a "color analyst" or whatever Bobby is but I love Deuce Windham's film study and observations. Gimme Deuce or Nick Underhill or somebody...Bobby gotta go
