Bobby Hebert said he hopes Eli Apple goes to IR (1 Viewer)

Hebert on WWL is an embarrassment to the city and region. Blame the station's management that cares nothing about quality programming and knows that, because of lack of competition, it can make money regardless of whom it hires.
Well they finally dumped home boy, Deke Bellavia, or whatever his last name was. Guy was a condescending tool, that took exception to anyone that knew more than him and would embarrass him. Or would disagree with him, with supporting facts. Kristian Garic is following the same path. He will be gone eventually as well.

I’m surprise that the Saints grant interviews to wwl at all. That’s not the first Time Bobby said something to that affect. If the Saints PR office gets word of what Bobby said then no more Qb to Qb segments on wwl.

People have been saying Bobby sounds drunk on the air numerous times. If so, how can WWL condone an employee drinking on the job? Not saying he isn't lit up like a Christmas tree, just wondering how he can get away with it.

Certain professions are very lenient on drinking. That is one possibility. And we don’t know that they haven’t been trying to figure out how to deal with it. They may be waiting for the proverbial straw. Who knows

Bobby is awesome. He is funny and knowledgeable - and most of us have said a thing or 2 about a player we are frustrated with. He doesn’t actually hope Eli Apple goes to IR he just wants someone else to start over him. I love listening to Bobby. He’s a fan who happens to be about as knowledgeable as they come. Not only that he’s a big reason that Coach Oeaux played college football and thus by extrapolation became a coach. He’s fun as heck.
Hebert has a position, that comes with a certain responsibility, to be fair with the words he uses. That said, Hebert, regardless of what he meant, his words were egregiously wrong. The issue is, he allows himself to be caught up in his own emotions of the game, that carries over to his current position. Being a player and being emotional is one thing. But being a radio show host/co-host, he cannot allow his player mentality and emotions to get in the way of his radio position and responsibility.

And just because you feel Hebert is a big reason for O, does not give him a pass, to be irresponsible. You are 100% wrong with your spin on this.

Pretty sure he said some messed up stuff about Marcus Williams after the Minnesota miracle too. And I get it, we’re all passionate and that play was traumatizing. But he’s supposed to be a professional and have a filter.

His interviews are so cringe anyways. Like half the time I have to stop listening because the ways he converses with players/coaches is just embarrassing and un-listenable.
I know he’s a part of saints history so there’s a soft spot for him but it’s time for him to ride off into the sunset.

So, I'll ask the obvious question. Did Hebert actually say this?

Can anyone else confirm?
I heard him say it bro. But he shouldn't lose his show over this.

If I recall correctly, he said that the Minnesota Miracle wasn’t a mistake on Marcus Williams’ part, but that he was on the take and intentionally gave up that TD.

Hebert is nothing but an x-Falcon. What he said was way out of line and inappropriate. He’s basically a flavor of the week radio guy. If Apple had not gotten hurt and had two picks he’d have him already in the HOF. Like others have said he’s funny sometimes but I don’t listen to him to learn anything new.

If he doesnt actually wish it, he should apologize. It's is unacceptable for a professional broadcaster to say that on-air. He's not some moron on a fan forum, but if he wants to be that should be arranged.

Not on this website. We went down that road once before with Stonewall.

I'm fine with apple and Marcus Williams not seeing the field again this year. But I hope they are healthy.

Who do you want to replace them with? We picked up two people off the street this week because of our DB's being banged up.

Several in this thread have verified it.

Are we sure he didn’t just say well it’s good for us if he goes to IR? As in the way he’s been playing?

Everyone is acting like he wished personal and long term injury on Apple. Anyone care to confirm his exact words?

Not according to the members who heard it and reported it here. They even said Kristain Garic tried to get him to back off but he didn't.
