Bobby Hebert said he hopes Eli Apple goes to IR (1 Viewer)

Bobby is awesome. He is funny and knowledgeable - and most of us have said a thing or 2 about a player we are frustrated with. He doesn’t actually hope Eli Apple goes to IR he just wants someone else to start over him. I love listening to Bobby. He’s a fan who happens to be about as knowledgeable as they come. Not only that he’s a big reason that Coach Oeaux played college football and thus by extrapolation became a coach. He’s fun as heck.
Naa, it's bad comedy usually, embarrassing and bad this time.

I just heard it actually.

Frankly he said he likes Jenkins better and thinks he’s better.

He said many times that he’s not hating on Apple, it is what it is, next man up and who gets the job done!

Says Jenkins has better instincts! Said he hopped he was on IR because he wanted Jenkins to get a shot!!

NO HE DIDNT WISH INJURY! Apple was injured! He was making a point that maybe it’s a blessing that Apple is on IR for Jenkins to get his shot!

Sorry but anyone that is attacking him for that! Wow! Get a reality check!!

He didn’t wish injury on anyone. He didn’t say Apple should be injured! Apple is injured! He in poor choice of words said well Apple on injury could be good! Jack Rabbit will get a shot!

Apple has be garbage!

Sorry. This outrage piling on gsrbgage is garbage!!!

Give me a break!

"I hope he is on IR," is, in fact, wishing him to be injured. Christian knew it and that's why he tried to get him to walk it back. That you are, apparently, as boorish as Hebert doesn't make it less so.

How he still has a job in radio is way beyond me. How long till he’s fired? Not saying they will fire him for this but like, you know it’s coming eventually

Not really. He's already injured. So hoping that the injury requires him to be on IR doesn't require him to get hurt. He's already hurt.

Christian probably knew how some goobers would take the comment and run with it. Like they did with the Marcus Williams play "almost looked shady." Which doesn't at all imply he missed the tackle on purpose. Just that it was such a bad play, that it looked similar to missing on purpose.

Who would y'all want as Hebert's replacement? It would most likely have to be someone who's knowledgeable about the Saints organization. Also should it be wise to fire him right at the time of our playoff run to the Superbowl?

Wishing that the injury is bad enough that he can’t come back is certainly in the same vein as hoping he would get hurt in the first place.

If the co-host was trying to get him to walk it back then it’s almost certainly because he recognized how cruddy of a thing that is to say about a player on your own team and that it should be beneath a professional in his position.

What’s wrong with just saying, “We all hope Apple is ok, but even when healthy, in my opinion, Jenkins is the better player and I hope the coaches give him a chance to start next week. He gives us better coverage, etc etc”

A broadcaster should be able to express his opinions clearly and with a least a modicum of professionalism.

Are we sure he didn’t just say well it’s good for us if he goes to IR? As in the way he’s been playing?

Everyone is acting like he wished personal and long term injury on Apple. Anyone care to confirm his exact words?

So you do not in fact remember what Hebert said about Marcus Williams after the Minnesota debacle a few years back?

BSPN deserves a shot

Two names popped into my head almost immediately. Jonathan Vilma and Jabari Greer. And yes fire him now as he has absolutely nothing to do with our playoff run run to the Super Bowl.
