Moore has said repeatedly that he creates a system that bets fits his players. He's said that every player has a super power and it's the coaches job to figure out how to use that super power.

I'd be really surprised if Moore hired a DC that doesn't share that philosophy and approach on the defensive side of the ball. I think Staley's going to run whatever defense best fits the current roster. That might be a 3-4, but it might not be.

So we do not know, yet.

He's not going to be the Head Coach. He did have some head scratching moments when he had that title, but he is a solid, attacking coach.

Tano is not under contract. Cannot imagine anyone giving up anything for Shepherd. I would think they will want to keep Granderson.

Good info. I saw some video a while back talking about Staley's scheme. He uses a lot of 3-3-5 Nickle, but it kind of looks like a 4-2-5 because oftentimes one of the 3 LBs in the 3-3-5 will end up being a stand up edge rusher leaving only 2 LBs behind the line. And then one of the Safeties from the two high shell often times crash the box to turn a light 6 man box into a 7 man box. I think even in his 2-4-5, he tends to bring one of the LBs to the LoS as a stand up edge rusher.

It's a really multiple front with moving pieces to match the movement of the DBs in the 2 high shell. He tends to need Safeties that can crash the box and hybrid Slot CBs that can play the run and blitz. I think Taylor would be a perfect fit in the Slot for Staley.

The Saints finally catch a break this draft is loaded with 3-4 DEs and rush LBs.

On paper your D doesn’t look too bad. But Young is all but gone. He was drawing interest before the increase in the cap was released. Now he’ll get $$$ on the open market. And Cam…..love the guy but it wouldn’t be shocking if he were released.

I think Young will be back. He’s a young pass rusher that we need. He will get probably around 12-13 million a year on a 3-4 year deal, which we can easily do while lowering his current cap number. Cam I believe takes a paycut to stick around.

Tanoh is a FA, but he won’t be anything more than a minimum contract signing. Shepard wouldn’t save much by releasing him this year, might as well keep him around for another season as depth imo.

Saunders can take up a double team, that’s all we need from him. Sure that spot can use an upgrade, but so can alot of spots that we cannot upgrade all in one offseason. We also have Ridgeway who looks to be a natural NT and is young and could be that guy, along with Boyd who would both be backups or even starters if they outplay Saunders.
