I don’t know if those folks were shock jocks (though the cocaine nose rub at the end was wild). That show looked like a Bill Maher show, or a will put together episode of “Phat Phat N’ All That”.

I don’t think people shared the same sentiment in opinion. If there was a venn diagram of the situation, the overlap would be that she was released, that not found in the overlap would be the reasoning.

We have made multiple attempts to get Whelan back. Russia has declined every thing we have offered. Anything else on the matter is irrelevant.

Not really sure why people are getting outraged over this. We got an American returned home. We tried to get them both, but the people holding them refused to even consider releasing one of them.

Bout will almost certainly get caught again if he falls back into his old life. I wouldn't be surprised to find him mysteriously dead in a few months. This is Russia we're talking about here. He was also expected to be released in a couple years for good behavior, so Russia really didn't even need to make a trade. They could have just waited a couple years to get him back. The fact that Biden was able to trade away someone who was about to be free anyway is pretty impressive.

And yes, I believe you're in agreement with Russian propagandists. You've made several posts in this tread indicating as much. No you didn't use the same language but that's because of SR's ToS more than anything. But it's all there, this idea that Griner isn't worth it, that she's somehow less than any other American.

They are Russian state media, straight up Putin shills. That "show" is curated propaganda, they are shock jocks who very effectively play on the deeply held beliefs, passions, and fears of their audience. That way when they make make completely false statements and arguments void of logic... their audience is softened up to accept it.

I have seen plenty of it, and sometimes it seems clumsy and some guest seem to step away from the "party line"... but it is anything but clumsy and always seems to feed the sentiment among the populace that the government needs cultivated.
