And for all the people asking about this person or that person, get active. Be the voice that helps bring another American home. Call your senators, push the government to make another "one sided" trade to rescue an American soul. No I mean it. I'm all for it. An America that's interested in saving an American's life is an America we should all push to have.

And yes, I believe you're in agreement with Russian propagandists. You've made several posts in this tread indicating as much. No you didn't use the same language but that's because of SR's ToS than anything. But it's all there, this idea that Griner isn't worth it, that she's somehow less than any other American.

I’m not well enough versed in Russian propaganda to say what that is, or isn’t . Seemed like an episode of Bull Maher to me, but then, the Bill Maher show is different things to different people.

The point is if (hypothetically) Patrisse Cullors and Salvatore Giunta were both in custody of a foreign power... the US should do everything within reason to bring both home. NEITHER is in any way less important to bring home or deserving of the efforts exerted to do so, PERIOD.

However, the nation holding them is going to want different things for each, and those things are not going to be equal. So if Cullors is brought home in a prisoner swap and Giunta left in custody, that is not our government valuing one over the other.

Nor should we see the return of Cullors as any less a positive than the return of Giunta would be, or view it as one coming home at the expense of the other.

It’s odd that folks are siding with the Russian government is believing Whelan was a spy after convincing themselves that BG was sentenced on trumped up charges.

Those same people probably called Micah Parsons MAGA Parsons after he opined on the topic in a manor that was different than what is acceptable.

The two can be true, Griner and Whelan may have been held on trumped up charges.

I definitely think both were true in that they were illegally detained. I'm happy BG is home and I hope we can get the others being held illegally home as well.
 
Good, I'm glad she's back. Hopefully other US citizens wrongfully imprisoned will be returned one day as well.

It would be nice, like the video below suggests, that we were more like Roman Citizens, and the fear of retribution. Yet, that's not the responsible thing to do.

Based on the information available, it seems like he was punished much more severely than is typical in Japan.

I'm sure the judge held a grudge for the bad reputation Marines have in Japan.
