Broncos hiring Pete Carmichael (2 Viewers)

I'm not saying Payton isn't a good HC, he is. We will find out just how good when we see if he can rebuild the Broncos or win with what they have. But sustaining success for 15 years and even winning one Super Bowl, takes the combined talent of the coaching staff, players, and the front office. Sometimes a synergy develops that just works and it's hard to recreate that synergy in a new location. I suspect Sean is seeing that now.

Edit: I'll add that the Saints are seeing how hard it is to maintain that synergy when you lose one or two of the key people in it. They tried to re-create that synergy with the same front office, mostly same players, and mostly the same coaching staff. But, it just doesn't work without Payton and/or Brees.
If the players buy in, I think we will see a major turnaround this season for them. He has the chance to get a QB in the draft or free agency (or both) and they will probably use this offseason to build the defense (with all the gaps they have, I don't see them giving up the farm for a QB this draft and will probably sit where they are but I've seen crazier things..lol).

I think Carmichael's best role was under an offensive head coach. He's not suited to be the guy but will be a good right hand man.
Exactly, they work well together and are familiar with each other. It's a good hire for Payton.

I know a good portion of the community here doesn't like Pete or care for his performance and that is expected but to go back with Sean it's a smart move for the both of them.

I'm going to guess a dynamic changed after Mr B passed and CSP left due to that. Only thing that explains it. He's basically assembled the same team there that he had here as best he could.
Bingo...

And I think it had to do with her lack of backbone when it came to being screwed over by the league and officiating. Sean was getting personally targeted and she wasn't doing anything to fight back. I don't blame him for leaving.

To be fair, most coaches take the staff they’ve worked with along with them when they go to another team. It happens in college football as well.
