Um, we destroyed the Bucs twice that season and the only we lost is because Drew played injured and the defense carried the Bucs.i think Sean left the Saints because they chose Drew over Tom who Sean had heavily recruited. Imagine if you had worked hard to get one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time to join your team only for the incumbant to come back in last second because he didn't want it to negatively affect his legacy. i think in the end, the Saints lost, and Drew won. Now we will forever live in Drew's shadow while Sean goes on to get riches and glory. This falls on Mickey and Gayle for choosing an aging Drew Brees over Tom Brady. Drew ended up losing to Tom and throwing 4 interceptions in his final game as a Saints. Furthermore, this broke Sean's heart and now he is in Denver smoking bongs.

I bet it’s only a matter of time before he gets Taysom Hill.
I hear that he's trying to find a doctor who is willing to transplant Drew's brain in Josh Allen's body.It looks like the Denver Broncos are becoming the new Saints for Sean Payton.
Well, if you're CSP, you're going to try to acquire the only Saints QB who can actually take over a game.It looks like the Denver Broncos are becoming the new Saints for Sean Payton. I bet it’s only a matter of time before he gets Taysom Hill.
I could care less how you feel, I’m honest about the team. We have no future. You’re so cloyingly negative, I hope the Saints offense finishes exactly one position above the Broncos offense specifically to spite you
I have no proof of anything, but I've had my suspicions that the hierarchy changed quite a bit after Tom Benson died and Payton wasn't down with being so far down the list of people in control. He was used to having near daily interactions with the owner. He obviously didn't have the same history or relationship with Gayle and things went back to norms that most organizations have. The first real grumblings about Payton wanting to leave were around a year after Tom passed away and I don't think it's a coincidence. You have to wonder what really went on behind the scenes for Payton to leave. He’s basically turning the Broncos into the Saints over there. Staff and taking players etc

Whatever you say Rita.Tom was a shut-in eating nothing but red wine and ice cream for a very long time. There were no daily interactions. If Payton was having daily contact with Tom, it was only to talk about what flavor of ice cream he liked best. Lauscha and Loomis were running the daily operations of the team for many years prior to Tom Benson's death.
