Butler agrees to terms with Saints (merged) (2 Viewers)

Maybe he plays fast, but he sure has a slow 40. He only ran a 4.84 at the combine.

Victor Butler: Combine Stats at NFL.com

If he's that slow, he'll be a liability in coverage. Imagine him trying to keep up with the slew of 4.6 and faster TEs that have proliferated. That's not a good combination, particularly since he's only 6'2". These measurables suggest a specialist/backup, so I think we'll still be looking for a LB in the draft.
Suggs also ran a 4.84, I don't see that as a problem for the Ravens...

I wonder how this affects us signing Nnamdi.

Will we lean more towards Porter given our limited space under the salary cap?
I don't think this affects the offer we've made to Nnamdi at all. If he chooses us over the 9ers, then we get our 4th important FA pickup. Loomis has at least a 100 ways to make these signings happen and stay under the cap.

Victor Butler's deal with the Saints is for 2yrs, but can void down to 1 yr based on playing time and production

Thanks for my new desktop for the rest of the offseason. I will be smiling every day at work.

all they need is to sign nnamdi and i would consider this a successful off season

Hope we can still sign Nmandi. If so then guess Patron will do what he does best. Draft offense, and I love it.:9:

Interesting.

That says a lot about all the visits he made and then settles for that?

Sounds like the rest of the teams told him to take his salary demands and stick 'em where the sun don't shine.

Of course, he may have signed for 5 million per year, and then I would look totally stupid. :hihi:
