I like to run a bunch too, so the heartbeat sensor is kind of useless to me. I do like the holographic sight or the red dot sight, but I always go back to the silenced M4.

I feel like I'm finally starting to realize what's going on in the game, but I still pretty much suck. It seems like I always look the wrong way going around a corner, and like people see me way before I see them. Maybe my TV is too big or something, too much real estate to scan.

But most likely I simply suck. If I go rambo style, I can get kills but I die a lot. If I go stealth, it's like I never see anyone and therefore get no kills. So then I start moving around more and get shot up, making me feel like I need to get some kills to sort out my ratio, and it snoballs.

But I must say I'm enjoying it. I didn't think I would, but I am. The maps are designed really well and are fun to play. The deathstreaks are no big deal as I made them out to be before release. No shields is different, but it's fun.

I need to find my style though. It's not fun sucking at a game. I found a gun and some perks that I like, but I need to break my Halo run-n-gun habits, which I'm finding hard to do. Many times I see a guy on my team getting shot at and I run in to help him, only to get shot while he runs away. In Halo, that's the thing to do. Not so much in this game, and I need to break the habit.

I have mastered cod 4 and Waw and feel lost in this game too. It's not just you. Just watch the killcam and take notes of what other people are doing. Hiding spots, perks, etc. Right now people are camping alot because they are worried about their k/d ratio.

I try to do the following, but I'm not sure if they are the right things to do:

1) either be running or be crouching. I try to spend zero time just walking, figuring that I either will be hard to hit because I'm moving or because I'm smaller.

Problem is, when I get into a fight with a guy while I'm crouched in which we both see each other at relatively the same time, he usually wins because he's more mobile and I'm crouched.

2) Call in UAVs while sprinting, so I don't spend a lot of time with my gun out of my hands.

3) Always reload after every little skirmish, even when others are around. Too many times I've tried to kill two guys with one clip, but ran out of ammo at the most inopportune times. Is this the right thing to do?

4) Once I get a kill in a spot, I move. This just seems like basic logic given the killcam, but I'm not sure I couldn't do better by expecting people to come back to find me and killing them again. Thoughts?

5) I try to stick near people on my team, figuring there is strength in numbers, but often I get hit with grenades or bullets that aren't meant for me.

Am I missing any basic strategy? Are these the right things to be doing?

You just made me realize i too get killed alot reloading and i was doing alot better with sleight of hand. So try sleight of hand when playing team deathmatch.

This team deathmatch is different from the past games because you never respawn behind them unless you use tactical insertion. I have spent a whole game respawning in the same place. It's more like teams holding down their side of the map then run and gun. I like to be the flanker myself and what i do is stick to the sides of the map. I have been getting killed alot doing this but once you break past those couple of campers holding down that spot it is worth it. I am about to start using smoke grenades because the maps are too bright and easy to spot from far away. I am getting killed from smgs across the map, even while i am sniping.

It's not always better to move from your spot after a kill in this game. It depends on how good your spot is and if you have a 360 view and room to run from grenades. I have been killed many times from the same guy sitting in the same spot he was in when i was killed 5 minutes ago.

Heartbeat sensor and thermal are a waste until they come out with night maps. Make a ninja class to use in the middle of the match when everyone is getting uavs. Cold blooded, Ninja Pro, and a silenced p90 are my favorite on larger maps.

1. Yes, it's a good thing to do. Run from cover to cover, but walk while nearing a corner or doorway. Crouch when you get into the doorway though, and scan the room before you enter.

2. Yep, I do the same. Either do it while running, or when crouched behind cover.

3. Reload after every kill, it's a must. Unless you know someone else is behind the guy you just killed, take time to reload ASAP. If someone shows up while you're reloading, switch weapons.

4. If you're comfortable where you're at, don't worry about them coming back. More kills for you. The house on the hill in Estate, and the open container on Rust are two examples.

5. Stick to the outside of the map until you're comfortable with it. More people in the same area just make for bigger targets from Predator strikes, grenades, etc.

you guys are killing me, i'm waiting on my in mail and everybody else is having so much fun with this game. how about everybody stop playing til i'm ready to go

If it makes you feel better, I'm only having a little fun.

Mongoose, stopping power is absolutely essential. If you like to run and gun, use a silenced P90 with Marathon, Steady Aim and Stopping Power. With steady aim your hip fire accuracy is almost as good as aiming. When I use that, I can pretty much dominate a game.

Reloading after a skirmish is second nature to me. I do it almost automatically but it gets me in trouble sometimes because I'm reloading and then here comes someone else. It really depends on the situation. In a crowded area I try to get into a corner or something and reload.

yo the first match i usually die 3 to five times in a row but after i'll warm up with some kill streaks.i notice once you kill the campers a couple of times you take them out their zone.not to worried about the k/d ratio since i'm a firm believer of going out with my gun blaze'n .yeah its going to be while i'm still getting use to the controller big difference from the 360.

Yeah, I really don't care about my k/d ratio either. I'm playing the game for fun not to jerk my own chain. I swear some of the people I've encountered online while playing this game are way too stressed about their k/d ratio and world wide rank.
