Well, I'll say this, never had the conversation with him; but knowing my daddy, I honestly think he'd have said the same things you are.

I don't think it was a dirty hit. He didn't use his helmet and he even pulled up a bit before he hit him. And while the throw was a little high, I don't even know that it was a "hospital ball". It was just one of those things that happens in football. I'm not sure what would be done to prevent it other than maybe Carr throwing the ball a foot lower, but very few QBs, Brees being the exception, have that level of accuracy most of the time. It's rare that a guy can play at the Brees level where he seems to just place the ball exactly where it needs to be every time. And I'm not sure what a QB is supposed to do. Not throw to a guy who is open and never throw the ball over the middle if there is anyone within 10 yards of the receiver?

So, most of it was just what happens when you play football. The other part is that Olave had already had one concussion a couple weeks ago and probably should not have been on the field since once you have one that recently, you are much more vulnerable to another one. He probably should have sat out for another few weeks and he also probably should have been wearing a guardian cover given his history.

There has also been talk that Olave needs to strengthen his neck muscles so that his head does not whip back as hard when he gets hit hard and so that his head does not slam into the turf as much or as hard when he lands on his back.

so it’s probably best to live while we’re here
Financial stability certainly could help with having a life well lived But it’s certainly no cure as evidenced by people who have money but little enjoyment/appreciation of life

I think you miss the point of life and being a parent. Enjoyment is nice but my job is to give my children and their children opportunities I didn’t have. I’m not saying go through life not having fun but enjoying life isn’t the point of life. Making the world a better place and touching people’s lives, yeah but who cares what you enjoy?

I can also say this. Money doesn’t buy happiness but it does relieve stress, makes life a little easier and overall allows you to do more things you think are enjoyable or your children think is enjoyable. I don’t love Disney or Universal but I love seeing my kids happy and excited every year we go. Money did that, hard work and sacrifice got that money and no one cares if I was smiling while I was making it.

I think he was saying say not all people who have a lot of money are happy. He wasn’t saying that all people who have money can’t enjoy life.

💯 all of this.

I’m not rich but having everything paid off since I was 40 (47 now) has made a literal world of difference. Zero financial stress is the greatest feeling in the world, well second to health.

Plus it's no guarantee he won't get thrown into traffic again if he return. Restore your health 12 come back stronger brother.
