We already talked about the classics that we haven't seen (A Goodfellas watching is imminent I swear!)

But what about the Classics you've seen but you can't stand?

What are the TV Shows and Movies that people give you the stink eye when you say that you hate?

I'll have to think on it but the one that immediately comes to mind is Silence of the Lambs.

I remember people singing the praises of it left and right.

I just didn't get it

I've seen it a couple times, and didn't like either time.

I'll grant it's been 20 years since I've last watched it so it's very possible that I'd love it if I watched it today (That's exactly what happened with the Godfather)

I'll be back with more later

I Hate Candyman. That movie freaks me out for some reason and horror films don't bother me but that one is a complete no no!

Oddly enough, I didn't like Seinfield when is was actually on the air. It wasn't till years later and the reruns were airing that I could appreciate how funny it is.

I really hated the newer MASH series... After Wayne Rogers and McLean Stevenson left and they brought in Mike Farrell and Harry Morgan, the show, to me, took a dive... It really crashed when Larry Linville left and David Ogden Stiers replaced him...

But Max Klinger's cross dressing, Jeep eating section 8 seeking nut job turning into a normal person was the straw that broke the camel's back. The show became too PC before PC became a thing...

It was much better when it was a comedy before it became a PC drama...

All in the Family and The Honeymooners -just can't stand watching either of the protagonists

All in the Family is one of my favorites and it's because of Archie Bunker (even though Edith is a perfect foil as his "dumb" but so wise wife). The way the show used his ignorance in normal conversation to undercut his prejudice and racism was just such clever writing. Carol O'Conner played him perfectly. In fact his parody of a blue collar working class bigot is where a character like Stephan Colbert's has it roots.
Archie is the 50's everyman America coming face to face with changing attitudes and culture, desperately trying to hold on to his view of what America should be. And again, it's perfect: (wish I knew how to embed and skip ahead about 10 seconds)

No, that's exactly what you're saying! And by insulting this 46 year old show you have insulted ME deeply! Retract your lies or pay.

Seriously, though, I was just surprised. But I guess that's what this thread is about.

Star Trek....anything Star Trek. I just don't get it.

Friends. Talk about a show that is totally unrelatable.

Hate is a strong word, and to each his own, so I can't really single out a particular show.

But...anything with a laugh track makes me change the channel. Live, real human response is okay, but that canned off and on stuff - nope. If you have to tell me what's funny, it's not funny.

never thought about it as a kid when i was watching, but laugh tracks for cartoons is such a bizarre concept - my oldest went through a Scooby Doo phase (which i was more than fine with), but everytime i hears laughs, i could only picture a gaggle of people huddle over some animators editing suite and laughing on cue

but speaking of cartoons, hated Tom & Jerry, didn't have much use for Donald Duck or any of the female "Mickey Mouse' characters
