Yeah. Albuquerque's style isn't for everyone. His stuff looks better in horror IMHO.

I wonder if this will address my fundamental issue with the original, which was that the Planeteers are basically useless middle men who rarely accomplish anything on their own and have to call on Captain Planet to save the day every time.

Box 3 didn't have as much. First appearances of Captain Marvel, Carol Danvers, Hellcat, Falcon and Captain America #100.

Boxes 4 and 5 are apparently larger in size. Still no sign of Hulk 181 yet or Giant Size X-men #1. Based on the dates represented, I'm confident they'll show up, just not sure about the condition. Could be a cover missing for all I know, which would break my heart.

If he handles the Planeteers in Captain Planet as he's currently handling Jan and Jace in Space Ghost, I think you'll be satisfied with the story. They're handling their own in that series (art is downright superb). However, Looten Plunder has been replaced by Lucien Plunder.

The rumor about boxes 4 and 5 being bigger is false. This is just as big, or maybe a little smaller. Just a quick pass through and still no Hulk 181 or X-men 1, so I'm beginning to lose confidence in those. Just a quick glance, not as many special items in this one. Still some cool old issues, just not much of any pecuniary value. Will go through more carefully this weekend.

One. And my guess is it's the same size as the rest, despite them saying it's "bigger". So Maybe 220-250 more books after this and then it's done.

I need to research safe methods to dry clean and "iron" comics. That may go a long way to restoring some of the better ones without hurting value. I'm not going to undertake the cost unless someone with authority tells me I get to keep a few for my trouble. ;)

I don't know if DC just printed shoddier products or if he was just reading them a lot more and wearing them out, but the average DC comic in these batches is ruined while the average Marvel book is pretty fair.
