Another guest, another subpar announcement. This time it's Vinessa Shaw. Yeah, I dare you to tell me anything she's been in without looking. It's likely you've seen her before, though.

At this point, my hopes of a big name guest who I'm truly excited for are dwindling quickly.

The only reason I'm still thinking about going is because my son wants to go and bring his friend to look around at the booths. That and we might go to the football game after. At this point, I'm starting to question going to the con, though.

I think I've decided I'm out.

I'm halfway considering using that money to go do Universal Halloween Horror Nights in Orlando during my time off in October.

That is a far better use of your money. Halloween Horror Nights is a lot of fun.

I've wanted to do it for a long time. Might finally pull the trigger now that money is a bit less tight.

Well, they added Giancarlo Esposito. That's a fairly big name. Only catch? He's appearing Sunday only.

I already met him at Fan Expo Dallas, so not a needle mover for me. But certainly the most relevant name they've added thus far.

But for one day.

If you met him already then it's less compelling, but he was really great at AwesomeCon.

Between Louisiana Con and Halloween Horror Nights, if money isn't an issue I'd take the latter though.

I really think I've decided to do Halloween Horror Nights. I've got a week off in October and should have the money to swing it. Already been looking at tickets.

Awesome.. I love amusement parks, and Universal has gotten a lot better over the past 15 years.

Bruh, what the actual fork? They just announced this today:

"Just a heads up.
Ticket prices will increase on Monday August 15th. These prices will remain in effect until the day of the event, when they will increase for the final time.
The prices on August 15th will be:
$30 per day, $50 weekend
Military: $20 per day, kids ten and under still free (all prior rules about ID and limits remain) - both military/kids options only available for purchase at box office"

If they're trying to drive some ticket sales, I'm not sure this is the way to do it. With the quality of guests announced so far, I was questioning whether or not I'd be attending with the kids. Now you wanna bump the price up further? Wow.
