Corona Drinking Thread (renamed) (2 Viewers)

First time I ever went to Denver & Boulder in 2016, it was -6. The snow was beautiful but -6 was just awful. We also booked a walking brewery & distillery tour which was still on. It was fun but the walk from place to place was gnarly.
I lived in Littleton from Nov 2015 - June 2018. Never again. Brown dry and dead for most of the year, most of the precipitation is frozen... there is like one month of rain outside of the frigid months during which things grow.

My first year there I had no clue how to dress, I remember being at a bus stop pre-dawn, dressed for work with just an overcoat and gloves to add warmth IN -14.
As the stow fell and the wind blew it would have been beautiful if the leather soles on my shoes had not actually frozen.

Ran into that in the late 80's early 90's up here. Went to Cleveland to watch the saints play after just having moved up here. Had no idea what cold was until I sat 3 hours in the old stadium for 3 hours in December with jeans and a jacket on. I don't remember the temp but it was wicked cold and had a nasty wind all day.

Now, that said...

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa, Happy Winter Solstice, or whatever you may or may not celebrate, you degenerate heathens.

I feel like if there ever was a holiday celebration where we all get together, it would be something like this.

I would gladly sacrifice my house to have all of you fools over for the holidays.
Just leave your guns at the door and wipe your feet.

I've been doing some soul searching the last few weeks trying to figure out what's going on with me. I'm completely over people in general....even our closest friends and family. I don't want to see any of them. My wife and kids are the only people I have any interest in seeing these days. I have a working theory that I'm just bored. We do the same things year in and year out with the same people at the same places. Example is we already have our vacations and year planned through next labor day and it's been that way for 2 decades. The people we do it with bore me these days. I don't enjoy it and I'm sure it shows. I've talked to my wife about it and our plan right now is to do this year because it's already all planned but next year something has to change.
How fitting

What part of Littleton? I lived off Mineral between Broadway and Santa Fe for 20 years, but just moved to the foothills in Deer Creek Canyon (I'm somewhere between 7500 and 8000 feet, and it's around -14 right now).

But generally I love the Colorado weather. You get a few cold snaps now and again (though this is unusually cold), but you also get 300 sunny days a year with low humidity.
The place we bought sits on 10 acres -- we're a little out in the sticks, but the solitude and separation is just wonderful. I spent 20 years looking out my back door and seeing my neighbors front door. Now I look out my back door and see deer and trees and mountains.

But flamethrowers and shivs are still cool?
Well according to you and buzd since I live in Mississippi, they would fit right in! For your information (informations?), I am a hell of alot happier here in my toothless land mass than I was in La.
And the people are a WAY nicer than wherever yall live!
So Merry Christmas 😭
