Could Rattler be our QB1 after another year or 2 of development? (merged) (5 Viewers)

For the capital we gave up to get him, it’d be a win if Rattler just developed into a solid backup. It’s early, but I don’t know if i see him developing into anything more than a backup. We have to keep looking until it’s obvious we found a starter.
He just went up against Jaden Daniels and was a 2 point play short. Not bad. And who called that last play? Cut off half the field and have everyone in the same area, priceless!

Maybe. I would be surprised though. Just something missing or maybe I haven't seen it yet. It might show up at some stage.

Well, sure. He’s a rookie and only played in four games, and mostly with a seriously diminished supporting cast.

I agree we need to see more but that would be expected, no matter the circumstances. He’s shown some natural ability, though, that I think is genuinely encouraging.

He's worth keeping around, but I wouldn't pass on a top-notch quarterback prospect in the next couple of years.

i agree it was not an ideal call, but Rattler still made the read and hit Johnson in both hands.

would be interesting to see what Rattler could do with some starters at skill positions and a new coaching staff

I don't know what's going to happen, but it seems that Rattler has at least shown improvement while Jake the snake has not. Spencer is the reptile I'd like to see play out the season while Derek is out.

There's a poster here - who's like right almost every time he posts something... He's been saying this since he was drafted... I am told he's getting weary of being right all the time, and being doubted... I'm going to side with this poster... just can't remember his handle... Was it TempoFan...? RetroBan....? YoloTan…? Meh... I'm sure I will think of it.

SMH. Go look at the play again. SR had 2 players open more than JJ. Austin in the back of the EZ and MVS just over the goal line

And why do people think QBs go up against each other? QBs go against the DEFENSE and the DC .

That's not true. Wash is #17 in team defensive rankings. They are in the bottom against the run and are below us in D rankings

Maybe I am reading the link above wrong, but Washington is listed as 12th in yards allowed per game and the Saints play few teams ranked higher this year

I guess, when I compare him to some of the other rookie QB's and the ones from last year, I just haven't seen anything to get excited about yet. He can put a good touch on the ball, but so can about 50 other QB's in the NFL.
