Could Siemien Be a Lot Better With a Full Week of Starter Reps? [Mod edit] (1 Viewer)

I appreciate the optimism, but living in Colorado I saw enough of Simien to know a week of practice as the starter won't fix him. He's not a starting QB in this league. It would be a miracle if he suddenly transforms into a starting qb with any semblance of consistency.

He looks a lot better than Tayson Hill. Siemian has earned a chance to start next week.

And Trevor nearly got (those numbers) in 3 quarters of relief... Pretty sure Taysom can get there or better, while also offering his running skills.... we'll be fine.

People need to just get behind Taysom and drop their bias at this point about the guy, Sean has stated many times that Trevor is the "in game backup" due to the game plan with Taysom at other positions... but should the Starter not be available going forward, Taysom would be the QB1 the following week.

Like it or not, this is Taysom's team from here on (as long as he is healthy).

I'm ready to get behind the next QB whoever it is. Trevor, Taysom, Book, or other. This team has so much talent all over the field and we can do some damage without an all world QB. We did it with Teddy. We did it with Taysom and we were doing it with Winston.

The drop off from Brees to Teddy or Brees to Taysom was way more significant than the drop off from Winston to Siemian/Hill. SP has overcome greater obstacles than this.

it sure seemed Siemien got rattled when Tampa went to zone
have no idea if that's part of his MO, have no idea if reading zones is harder coming off the bench (though, i would imagine)
i also assume that zone beating is another skill out WRs/TEs are still developing
but i would want to hear informed opinion about our 3rd quarter woes before guessing which way we'll proceed

Only thing I don't like about Siemen yesterday was being slow getting off the snap. Thank God the line played well enough. McCoy was off on his snaps. But Siemens has to be quicker.

He showed some catlike reflexes catching a couple unexpected snaps...he's got that going for him

That seemed to last only two series and since it was a complete change in the Bucs defense, and assuming that the play list was already shortened. that is not an unreasonable adjustment period.

He can only run the plays he is given and it is not like he has any real chemistry with our receivers who are virtually all rookies

I live in Colorado too, and I really like Siemian. I think he could possibly be the best QB on the roster, and I'm excited to see what Payton can do with him.

I think gehe'a decent quarterback (Siemien) and always wondered if his shortcomings were completely on him or his team situations.

Yeah, I think there is a good chance that he has a great game.

I like me some Taysom, but I do not like the way he looks pocket passing. If they go with Taysom they need to go full run/pass QB with him.

How can you do that coming off a concussion protocol? Big decisions ahead.

Unless he just outdid himself coming in cold, I'd think any QB would fare much better with a full week of preparation as the starter. It'll be interesting to see if he's starting or if we hear anything new on Taysom. Judging from yesterday, Siemien looks like he might be the best fit going forward.

My aunt (whose never lived in NOLA) is a lifelong Broncos fan. When I asked her her take on Siemian she basically said "He's ok as a game manager type."
