Does as I say, not as I do.

I think it's quite the opposite - he is signaling to his base that he supports their ability not to wear masks while still providing himself cover by saying "we still recommended you wear them - it was a personal choice by the people not to". He's been doing a pretty good job of straddling both lanes the entire time and still is.

Please delete if too political - I don't think there's any commentary on my feelings on Trump either way, more just his strategy.

Louisiana Stay at Home order is lifting and we're moving to Phase 1 on Friday.

good to see this, I'm sure it's not nearly enough but it's something

Hopefully all employers of "essential" employees do something similar

McDonald's has chosen to reward its workers for their patience and sacrifice during the coronavirus pandemic by giving them a bonus.

To demonstrate its appreciation, the fast-food giant decided to hand out bonuses to employees at 700 company-owned stores. The bonuses are worth 10 percent of their earned pay in May.......

McDonald's isn't the only corporation that is showing appreciation to its employees. According to Nation's Restaurant News, "Other restaurant and retail chains providing employees a boost in compensation amid the COVID-19 pandemic include Starbucks, Walmart, Kroger, Amazon and Albertsons.".........

Good Thread:

I know tons of healthcare workers...and honestly, I'm glad that the significant majority are in no position to dictate national policy. There is about as much science and statistics backing many of our health care providers opinions as the anti-mask/I'm Amurican crowd. And it's almost to conspiracy theorist levels..."I don't believe the statistics"..."what if a second or third or fourth wave hits"..."this is prioritizing the economy over lives". Yeah...haven't heard that one a million times. It's almost like for the stupidity of Joe Redneck has to be matched by the equally science debunked irrational fear of educated Dr. Janes socialite. It's almost getting to the point where I want to shake some people.

No...we aren't close to having a vaccine. One day will not get us a vaccine...perhaps a year...not a day. No...we aren't close to having a widely distributed antibody test (especially one that is actually reliable for a change). So what the heck are we doing? We are doing what science is currently providing to us...which is re-opening the country in phases, while ensuring healthcare resources are maintained using actual statistics.

I hope that Walmart is giving their grocery pickup people a big bonus. At least at the store I go to, they've earned it.

I once heard a doctor say "At any given moment, half of what we think we know in medicine is wrong. And we don't know which half."

So should we not be trusting them when they tell us to take vaccines and that the vaccines don't cause Autism?

Someone posted a video many pages back. A dr. said creating a vaccine would be extremely difficult. The reason was a corona virus
can mutate up to 8 times a year. The Flu mutates once. I'm just asking your opinion. Will a vaccine be very difficult to create, and if one
is, how well would it work on mutated strains?

That would be great. Ever since my wife was forcedback to work 3 weeks ago, we have a toasted coconut snacks and a small bottle of essential oil on the entryway table to take a small bite and a sniff. It might sound weird but in a busy day you might not notice quickly if you have lost your sense of smell or taste. That little habit provides a moment when we are focused on it with no distraction
