The nation, the workforce, business as usual.

Lol, wishful thinking on his part. It's just maddening the comparisons he's making, i.e. flu, car accidents, suicides and whatnot. But, he's not an expert, so I'm not listening to much of what he says.

To put these numbers in some context:

The state collects data by region that show there are 407 ventilators, 652 ICU beds and 4,299 total staffed beds across Jefferson, Orleans, Plaquemines and St. Bernard parishes.

There are 21,848 staffed beds in Louisiana, of which 2,363 are for intensive care, according to LDH. Additionally, Louisiana hospitals have a total 2,320 ventilators.

Obviously the data doesn't include the number of patients currently on ventilators who have not tested positive for COVID-19.

When our hospitals and ICU's become overwhelmed and it becomes apparent that if/when you catch Covid-19 and develop pneumonia or other serious symptoms there is a high likelihood the medical help you need won't be available to you, people are going to go back to or continue social distancing, and no amount of Trump/FNC cheerleading is going to make things just go back to normal.
