That was a short presser...didn't seem to be has vocal about opening things wide open after 15 days...much more subdue today...suggest to rewatch if you have time

Surely he didn't dupe us yesterday with his rhetoric about opening things up to force congress to get off their a$$

or is it he might be understanding how bad NY is going to be?

Few observations:
That Toby Keith post is maybe the best post I've read in a week.

Crime is a concern of mine. Not really at my residence but for my wife going to work. She gets called in sometimes in the middle of the night....Sunday it was 2am. With the new regulations she has to park in the garage but walk to the front entrance. I worry about her walking by herself in the middle of the night like that. We've talked for years about getting her mace but it's never been a huge issue until now. That's at the top of the list for us to get at the store next time.

Am I the only one that hopes every day there's some kind of news that shows a turn for the better while knowing there won't be? I just want this thing to end and yet it just gets worse and worse. It feels so far away before I'll feel safe for my family and myself.

I think the lack of crowds thing is legitimate, I wouldn’t want my girlfriend having to walk in an empty city. At the same time there are two sides to the overall crime thing I suspect.

With a stay-at-home situation and basically all non-essential activity shut down, it frees up police resources from all the sheet they do that has nothing to do with stopping major crime. It eliminates the stuff that leads to a lot of petty violent crime like bar fights, armed robbery, random shooting, home burglaries knowing people are home etc. However, I would imagine things like domestic abuse increases notably.

Not gonna pretend to be an expert, just thinking out loud, but I did read how crime was down in San Francisco and some other cities since the quarantine. I wouldn’t extrapolate that as any sort of proof, but it is interesting data points.

The increases in cases wasn't as high as I thought it was going to be today. I was sure we were going to add another 15k cases today

Mass business closures mixed with stressed and scared people can be an explosive combination

I am not advocating stocking up on more ammo than you would ever need, but I see the possibility.

Just make sure it's social ammo, and not FMJ

Welp, this is all kinds of jacked up.

Just heard from my cousin in CT who works in a supermarket. She seemed pretty chilled out. People are not rude but wonder when supplies are coming in. Her place has shields to try to keep customers from breathing on the cashiers, probably like what they have for salad bars. She has always been pretty laid back, but she seemed surprised when I told her she was on the front lines.
Her daughter just brought a new baby home, and she hasn't seen the new granddaughter yet. What a time to give birth!
They have a curfew up there and have to show permission letters to cops who stop them.
