Current Saints 53 man roster after cuts (1 Viewer)

Anyone know why Taysom is listed as a QB on neworleansaints.com ?

I'm trying to be nice here.

That explains all of the Face Palms to my posts and your follow-up below.

But this is your typical thing there you post 18 pages about stuff that is incorrect and then claim victory. I'm not falling for it again. You are wrong and you don't even understand that you are wrong.

You haven't proven any of what you have stated to be facts. You just continue to ramble on the same stuff without proof to back it up.

There's no further point of either of us continuing the back and forth. You can stick to what you've said, and I'll stick to what I've said.

As I stated in a post above, I'll be the 1st to admit being wrong if proven to be so.

Will you?

Hopefully someone will ask a media member to go on record stating whether or not the media has had Full Access to Every Rep of Every Practice in OTAs, Mini Camp, and Training Camp, Or Not. The answer from a media member, not you or I, would set the record straight about this.

Until then,

See Ya! :peace:

Read the bottom of Tripplett's tweet below. I know you don't want to believe it, but it's true:

Excerpts from the Complete Rule from NFL.Com published 9/24/23.

A club cannot designate an Emergency Third Quarterback if it has three or more bona fide quarterbacks on its 47/48-player gameday active list.
My takeaway here is listing TH as a QB and 3 other QBs on the roster is not a problem because you can have 20 QBs on your roster and still have a QB3 as long as they dont all dress.

But listing TH as a QB and then activating him along with two other QBs will mean that we did activate 3 QBs and therefore wont be able to have an EQB3.

Im not sure that we really care that much about it either way as in an emergency situation whether TH has practiced at QB in the new system or not he may still be asked to take QB reps.

Camp is over on August 28. It ended when they left California. They are in regular season mode now where the close parts of practices for game planning stuff.

I'm not sure where you got that information. Did you assume it to be true or did you just make it up? Both are similar but they don't necessarily make it fact.

From the source I choose to believe correct, the NFL, they say it ended today, September 1st, 2024. Regular season mode begins tomorrow, Monday, 9/2/24.

You can have the last word on the subject, provided you admit you were wrong when replying.

1-SepFinal day of preseason training camp for all clubs, as defined in CBA Article 23, Section 10.

There's also a first day that all clubs are legally allowed to start training camp. It doesn't mean they must start on that day. Similarly, they don't have to end on this date. Widge showed you the proof of when camp ended. You're ignoring it.

There's a specific amount of extra practice time allowed during camps, that's why the NFL regulates how many and when OTAs, minicamps, and training camps occur. It's to mandate the maximum, not to force teams to have the same schedule. Teams have no obligation to use the full time, start on the same day or end on the same day. They can end camp early and return to the less rigorous game week schedule whenever they want.

Edit: According to this article from WDSU, training camp technically ended August 16.

"The New Orleans Saints will begin this year's training camp on July 24 in Irvine, California. Rookies will report three days earlier on July 21.
Training camp runs for nearly four weeks and will end on Friday, Aug. 16."

The proof is in the pudding below. The media reports you and Widge are referencing are purely in physical locality as to when the team left California.

It's doesn't matter whether the team was in Cali, in N.O. or on Mars, according to the NFL article I cited below they were under the umbrella of training camp status.

The league has transitioned from training camp mode into regular season mode effectively today, 9/2/24.

You can ignore these facts, but they will remain facts, unless of course, you can prove there's a higher authority on the subject than the league itself.

I tried to be gentle and give you the information, but you just ignored it. You are either misinterpreting the NFL's intent or purposely being argumentative. Either way, you're 100% wrong. The league doesn't set the training camp dates for each team. They only set the parameters under which all teams must operate. This means that no team can continue training camp past September 1st. Notice how teams are starting on different dates? If the NFL made teams start and end on the same date, this wouldn't be possible.

This link contains the training camp schedule for EVERY team. The rules are there to keep teams from abusing the extra practice times that come from being in training camp, not to set their schedules. Teams can break their camp whenever they want provided it's on or before the NFL mandated final date, September 1. There's substantial proof that the Saints truly broke camp when they left California.

The Falcons ended camp on Aug 28, not September 1.

The Bucs ended camp on or near Aug 21, not September 1.

The Panthers ended training camp with joint practice against the Jets on Aug 15, not September 1. That can be found herd,

And here...

The 2024 Carolina Panthers’ Training Camp will be held July 24th – August 15th, 2024

These were the first 3 teams I checked. NONE of them ended when the NFL mandated training camps MUST end. That date is the boundary and not the requirement. You're misinterpreting it.

You entered the back and forth between me and St. Widge. He's quite capable of making his own case without you carrying his water for him.

I didn't need to interpret or misinterpret the league rule on this. It's clear what it says. You've chosen to speak on what the NFL's "Intent" of the rule is, not me.

I'm not being argumentative. I'm simply standing by the facts as stated by the league rules.

1-SepFinal day of preseason training camp for all clubs, as defined in CBA Article 23, Section 10.

Is the game Officially Over because you choose to leave at the end of the 3rd quarter when it's evident that the Saints will lose that day?

When you were given a test in school and had an hour to complete it, was the testing period over because you finished your exam in 58 minutes?

Do you trust what The Rules State, that are clear and concise, or do you rather question the intent and authority of the rule maker?

D.A. was questioned last week as to whether the team was game planning for the Panthers in their practices, which were here.

His answer was "No, not yet. We're still evaluating the players on our roster."

The first day of Regular Season Practices began yesterday, Monday, September 2nd, 2024.

The back and forth that St. Widge and I were in disagreement on was a broader subject than the date training camp ended. For reference, you can visit page 6 of this thread, where it all started, that also included input from Meily and Webster. You certainly have a right to chime in. I'm just telling you there's a bigger picture.

At its core were the following contentions:

1. Whether or not Taysom Hill could enter a game should Carr get injured and be effective with limited snaps in the offseason in the new system.

2. Whether or not if Hill had any snaps at QB during the offseason beyond the "Wildcat" type.

3. If All off-season practices had been viewed in their entirety by the media.

Number 1 would remain an opinion, regardless of the answers to #2 and #3, until proven one way or the other on the field of play.

Number 2 would enlighten those outside of the organization, fans and media included, as to how the Saints may intend to use Hill in 2024 when lined up at QB.

Number 3 has not been confirmed yet by a source with media credentials having gone on record to clear that question up.

Until then, we can't be certain either way.

So what happened to Taysom Hill? I saw another roster where they had Taysom Hill as a second tight and still a third roster where they had Taysom Hill as a fullback but I don’t see him on this one, never mind just found him in a running back position.#SwissArmyKnife.
