Food for thought. If the birds lose is the discussion:
The 58 million is going to disappear fast when we start restructuring
We all know this, but you can't fill 6 starting spots with a team that doesn't have an All-Pro player on it.And that’s not an issue, because you can go over next year’s cap right now, then the following year, we have WAY more money in 2027 to help offset the 2026 spend, in addition to having open roster spots.
It’s a slow unwind that involves also continuing the path to a degree.
Thanks to you and others that answered my question earlier. Void years will severely impact 2026.We all know this, but you can't fill 6 starting spots with a team that doesn't have an All-Pro player on it.
I think it's a 3 year one imo, but that 3rd year is probably still not guaranteed to make the playoffsThanks to you and others that answered my question earlier. Void years will severely impact 2026.
That said, we'll get relief in 2027. It's not a 4 year rebuild like others were suggesting earlier.
I know it's not guaranteed, but 2 solid drafts will put us back in the thick of things in 2027. We have
to hit on those picks though.
We are not hiring Rizzi. If he was being seriously considered we would have kept Klint Kubiak. Two things.
1. I HATE the idea of hiring Rizzo just to waste two years. You don’t do that to a coach. Who would want the job after that? The time to start the rebuild is today. You do that with the best coach you can get, and you tell him you understand the tough situation and won’t fire him for not winning with a lousy roster.
2. You can lose and still improve. Next year I’m not worried about the number of wins, I want to see player development and team progress. Bring in a rookie class that plays well. Find out what Rattler is really worth. You want the coach to find his players and build a team. Winning comes later. That’s just where we are. I’d rather see a 3-14 team next year that is improving each week and playing hard than a 8-9 team that is maxed out and has no future.
This coach hire is for the long term. Play the long game, that’s the smart way.
Unless, Rizzi indicated during his interview he would bring in a different OC if he's the head coach. We are not hiring Rizzi. If he was being seriously considered we would have kept Klint Kubiak.
Most of them are usually career backup QBs. They are basically another coach on the sideline is the way I see it.In sports it’s funny some of the least successful players make the best coaches.
It’s similar in the NBA. A lot of coaches are former bench players. Most of them are usually career backup QBs. They are basically another coach on the sideline is the way I see it.
And i'm of the opinion that Brady knew that KM was the 1st choice and pulled out so he would not get turned down by a 3rd teamThis is ridiculous.
1) Aaron Glenn didn’t turn us down, he literally took the job he was offered. He was never offered the job here, we just had an interview request in.
2) Joe Brady very well could feel like he is not ready. He is really the only one that turned down a 2nd interview.
3) KK and MM both “pulled out” the same day it’s announced KM is the frontrunner. That’s a save face move to make it seem like they’re more focused on other things than a HC gig they weren’t going to get.
It absolutely holds water because it proves that our cap situation will not be that much of a hindrance to what we want to do.I get your point and it holds no water to the point I'm making. Which is this team is not 1 or 2 years away like the Houstons or Washington because this roster and cap situation is dismal.
