Dennis Allen confirms that Mickey Loomis was not in favor of firing him after Panthers loss (10 Viewers)

I never said that DA should not have been fired and by all indications that would have happened at the end of the season
What indications? Mick consistently signaled he was willing to give the deer the benefit of the doubt. He should have been fired last year. Mick is a stubborn old man and I have absolutely no faith in his leadership going forward.

Hope this is true, we will see....

Why do you keep bringing this up? The point is moot.....all indications are just hearsay....it doesn't matter because the team had already quit on DA midway through the season, any idea how ugly it would've gotten had ML had his way and retained DA for the rest of the season? It would have been a total shirtshow......thankfully Gayle realized this and acted....hopefully she does the right thing and take ML out of the decision on the new HC....
And ML said in his OWN words that they came to an agreement to let DA go . I bring it up because Underhill THE most trusted Saints reporter has said it more than once no matter how much you don't want to acknowledge it

So tell me just what did firing DA mid-season accomplish that firing him at the end of the season would not have?? It gave Rizzi an audition for a job that I think he is underqualified for. We got a lil juice and we won maybe 1 game more than we would have.

But most of all it showed potential HC candidates that " Hey , you can get fired mid-season in N.O."

SMH it has been reported MANY times by Underhill , THE most trusted Saints reporter and Tripp that they felt that ML was going to fire DA at the end of the season. ML , just like Tom Benson did not believe in firing HC mid-season , it RARELY does any good and it's a not so goof look for the organization

Okay, I guess I gotta take your word for it since Nick said it. :ROFLMAO: Loomis went to bat publicly numerous times for a guy who should have ever been given a second chance, so no I don't think it was a done deal.

This whole getting fired mid-season is the biggest straw hat out there. Getting fired mid-season or the end of the season is insignificant. I think getting fired after one year is a bigger deal. DA got almost three years to prove himself twice, this is a business.

I don't think you know how potential HC candidates look at things

Why on earth do you keep emphasizing what Loomis said in his own words like what he says means anything? Like you really think he's going to spin it any other way? The owner went around him and did the legwork herself. There was no "agreement." She made it happen, he went along with it because she's the boss.

It saved a total mutiny and players walking out of the building. The team had quit on him. Gayle didn't reach out to fans, she reached out to the players... They wanted him fired.

"Hey you can get fired mid season after you really should have been fired last year, even though it was obvious you sucked after your first year." Allen was historically bad. Like top 3 lowest winning percentage, no coach is going to see that and not understand why it was done. If anything other HC candidates are going to look at the situation and be like well if they gave that incompetent clown 3 years then I'll at least get the same.

Although I don’t think that he’s going anywhere, the train wreck that was Allen’s 2nd HC stint falls on Loomis. You saw how it went with him in Oakland, gave him a 2nd chance because of what he accomplished under SP, an admirable move, but like many have stated, he should have been let go after year two. That’s just how inept he was/is.

Everyone saw the wheels falling off. Yet Loomis sat on his hands and watched years of turnaround and respect burn to ash. What we are auditing through now is the rubble and trying to see what can be salvaged if anything. That’s why people want a tear down and rebuild. People old enough to remember the horrible teams the Saints fielded, don’t want to go back to that after what SP established.

Especially in a weak division that will likely become somewhat competitive quicker than most thought, the right HC and staff has to be put in play now.
