Video Dennis Allen has the locker room fired up after win vs. Browns (1 Viewer)

The repair isn't a new coach. The repair is patience and less injuries.

You cannot win in this league with half your salary cap on the sidelines or IR despite what we did yesterday.

The game decisions and play calling can be critiqued in hindsight, but the fumbles, bad calls and stupid penalties are on the players, as well as, the coaches.

A new coach from elsewhere would have done no better in this situation.

Nope, not buying above….at all…..Total BS, we had just as many or more injuries last year….this all started with the QB decision and it’s gone downhill ever since….this team came out of the gate undisciplined, leader less and have slowly but surely lost the team culture and identity that was built over the last few years….a few wins (after the pressure is off and there is nada to play for) against teams that are as bad as we are doesn’t change that….

Patience led to us holding onto Mora to long, so long he actually quit….same with Ditka, same with Haslett….I would like to see ownership not make the same mistakes again…..

You were probably one of the ones whining that CSP was holding us back last year and what QB decision is DA responsible for?

He had no money and nobody to draft high so he played the hand he was dealt.

And even if you weren't among the whining CSP is holding us back crowd you do have to be cognizant of the fact that we were facing cap hell and a lack of cheap young talent for years.

It's the price you pay for what we did to try to get one more with Brees. Now, we pay the piper whether it's DA or someone else. Furthermore, there's some really strong clues that CSP walked because he knew what was coming this year.

I mean you couldn’t be more wrong…..Holding us back last year? I thought it was one of his best coaching jobs ever….NFL record number of injuries and still went 9-8 and should have made the playoffs….he would have easily won the division with this team this year…

The decision to go with AD is the one I’m speaking of…he bungled the message (is JW healthy or not?) and then went on to say it was performance based decision….a decision that helped lead us to where we are now….

We have been facing cap hell forever….good drafts fix that quickly and we have one of the best draft guys in Jeff Ireland….

Really strong clues? Ok….I think the notion that he walked because he has a new young wife that doesn’t want him working 100 hours a week is just as strong….

I know what incompetent coaching looks like and that is what we have right now….I don’t want a few meaningless wins to give DA another year….

I really don't care what you want, but I do agree he screwed up with the Winston decision both to allow him to play with the injuries he had and to not put him back when he was health. That said, Dalton hasn't been that bad. Injuries, untimely mistakes by veteran players and some bad luck/calls are all that separates us from 9 and 6 right now.

Now, don't get me wrong. That's not good enough. It's not where we would have been had DA been CSP nor where we would have been with DA and a healthy team.

Attention to detail is important, ball security is important….all of those little things that CSP focused on DA clearly does not….TCUDan alluded to this….when you see veteran players making uncharacteristic mistakes? Coaching….

Don’t get you wrong? You haven’t been right yet…..

But you have no idea what DA harps on in practice. They might run hours of ball security drills and you wouldn't know it or not. What you're doing is assumption based on what you see and it's about as likely as what I'm doing, but at least I'm not holding my uninformed opinion out as anything more than it is.

That said, I'm not stupid enough to believe that this year was going to be a superbowl season with the injuries to MT, Jarvis, Winston, Kamarra, Ingram, Harty, Trautman, Penning, Ruiz, Lattimore, Werner, and the 24 other guys who've missed multiple games.

CSP might could have made a better show and that's why he's going to get 20m per year next year and us a couple first round picks. DA is not CSP, but neither is McVay. Look at the Rams.

I believe there were rumblings on how differently DA ran practice and TC than CSP did….that and the on the field result is enough to convince me….if it’s not enough to convince everyone? Fine, to each his own….

This was by no means a SB caliber team for many reasons that you have stated but with CSP I feel they would have been much more competitive, what you are seeing now are Mora type decisions from a defensive coach who won’t trust their offense….

I have no idea where CSP winds up but I would be fine with him coming back….

I do believe if Payton were coach this season, we'd have already clinched a playoff berth for sure. I really think we pick up 2-4 more wins with Payton. Certainly win the Bucs game, the Panthers and maybe even the Vikes. Would be 9-6 at this point instead of 6-9 imo.

Probably but super bowl is out of the question for years. No QB.

It depends. If the rumors of Brady coming with Payton are true, then set for a year in the 23 season and then draft a qb in the first round in 24. After that, see where we are.

Fwiw, I'm not expecting Brady to go to NOLA at all, but never know.

I really think that Brady retires after this season, father time has finally caught up with him….I never say never but I feel the Brady coming here rumors are kind of ridiculous….
