Video Dennis Allen has the locker room fired up after win vs. Browns (1 Viewer)

Public perception or sentiment doesn't have anything to do with it.

DA is not going to be fired after this year.

It's simply not going to happen unless CSP shows up and asks for his job back.

If we get stomped by Philly, I can see Mrs. Benson looking out over a half-empty Superdome and making the decision to part ways with DA, particularly if we lose that game as well. As I've said before, I think Mrs. Benson greatly values her position at the center of the New Orleans entertainment world.

The thing is that the Saints can afford to have a lame duck coach.
This isn’t a mom and pop style franchise like it was in the 60s to 80s where it was strictly local and the home crowd could let it slide a little bit more.
Standards have been raised. In the 00s, the Saints are a national brand.

See this is where we differ.
The Saints with Sean Payton were a national brand. It’s starting to look like the national brand now is just in demand Sean Payton while the Saints are great value with oatmeal Allen.
Which makes it all the more urgent to start the repair now.

DA has underperformed by any standard, irrespective of the injuries. We’ve lost winnable games solely due to game planning, in game adjustments, individual play calls, clock management, player mis utilization, etc. That’s on DA and his staff. Time for him to go. After the Tampa meltdown how can this even be a close call?

She also isn't an unstable or impetuous person and probably understands as well as anyone that the sample size this year with the various complications we've faced is not long enough. Moreover, Mickey Loomis is the person who will make that call.

The repair isn't a new coach. The repair is patience and less injuries.

You cannot win in this league with half your salary cap on the sidelines or IR despite what we did yesterday.

The game decisions and play calling can be critiqued in hindsight, but the fumbles, bad calls and stupid penalties are on the players, as well as, the coaches.

A new coach from elsewhere would have done no better in this situation.

It still feels like a wake. Even in victory, it’s a sad reminder that SP is gone. Some coach had to replace the legend and hopefully we start fresh next season.

Yea keep waitin. The guy with a horrible record is going to have the light bulb come on any day now.

I’ll ask the same question again. What has he done without Payton standing over him holding his hand.

Mickey is the guy that hired this loser also. If he can look in the mirror and be honest with himself he will relieve him of his duties soon.

I’m just going in my lifetime. I’m 31. I’ve only known the Saints as a contender or close to it except for one season.
And during my lifetime of watching the Saints (01-present) are one of the winningest franchises in the League.
I don’t carry the baggage of the Baghead Days. Or Ditka.
I only had to wait 8 years to see a championship!
I know there are a large group in the country that see the Saints in that same light.

With two games left in the season, I'd say ,coach, that this ra-ra vibe is rather the same as shutting the barn door when the horse has gone, yes???🤔🙄

How anyone can say this when we literally went 9-8 last season, in a worse situation, is beyond me.

Pretty much every top front office person in the NFL remembers the pre-Sean Payton Saints as bag head Saints. Those guys are the ones who need to pay top shelf draft picks to get him.

It wasn't a worse situation last year. It was about the same and we are now 6 and 9 with a new coach who is not CSP.

You do realize that CSP is going to get 20m or so next year and we're going to get a couple 1st round picks for him and there's a reason.

DA is not CSP. Nobody is and that's why he's worth twice what any other available coach is worth.

McVay won the superbowl 2 years ago and look at his team.

It's not an easy gig and DA may be a mid tier guy at best, but that doesn't mean some new OC from somewhere is going to have been able to do what Payton did in 06.

It's simply not how it works and how anyone can think otherwise is amazing.

That's conventional wisdom and is true more than 9/10 times, but it doesn't matter. People like to roll the dice when it's not their money.
