Video Dennis Allen has the locker room fired up after win vs. Browns (1 Viewer)

Don't care, still needs to go. 1 semi fiery speech after beating a bad Browns team changes nothing for me.

it is going to be hard to get someone else in to coach this team with all the problems they have coming up. Salary cap and lack of high draft picks for this year and next. We still have to give up a 3rd the draft after next. That is why I think Allen stays another year.

People keep saying this and it's just nonsense.

We got Payton to come here after Katrina. A year of cap problems and injuries isn't going to deter the next hot property from coming here. That said, there's zero chance DA is fired unless they find him passed out in a pile of cocaine at his desk with 3 dead hookers.

AK I think was addressing lack of accountability among the players. I'm going off my somewhat hazy memory here. He never mentioned the coaches by name, so it would depend on what you think he was addressing. MT is a complicated situation because I think he was pointing more at the medical staff than the coaches. I've never seen him say anything bad about Allen.

Winston was injured at the beginning of the season and players/coaches sometimes disagree about how to handle the timing and circumstances of returning from injury. Dalton hasn't been great, but he also hasn't been terrible. I would have liked Winston to return, but he really didn't look good at the beginning of the season and the injuries unfortunately derailed his season for the second year in a row.

All that said, and like I stated earlier, I'm not on board with sticking with Allen another season. But if the front office gives him a second season, it's playoffs or he absolutely would have to go at that point.

Edit: fwiw, I think Loomis and Gayle will give some weight to the evaluations after the end of the season. I suspect players will have plenty to say one way or the other at that time.
Shouldn't some evals (including with the players) be happening quarterly? (after every 4 games)

I'd imagine they're periodic. But no idea what they encompass or how often they are. I'm speaking more towards the season end evals because those likely deal more with the quality of the coaching and where the players stand.

Gotta believe DA has saved his job if it was actually ever in jeopardy.

Looks like they know there is a camera between them. That's a publicity shot, not a vote of confidence shot.

When a player only meeting is called, and your star running back is preaching accountability, the coach has failed. Tom Landry was not a yeller and screamer yet his teams were extremely disciplined and winners. From 1965 to 1985 he did not have a losing season and he was the most stoic coach i have ever seen. Salary cap is not going to be an issue and Payton will be coaching for someone, so we will be getting high draft picks back. And there are only of these 32 jobs. If a change is made, there will be plenty of very good coaches wanting a shot.

Yup….how many of these meetings happened under CSP?

The fact that we finally get a key turnover in week 16 to beat one of the few teams that may be worse than we are does not change my opinion on DA even a little bit….

It’s too late, the season is already lost, I don’t want to go through another lost season with a dead end coach…..

I see DA much the same way I see Taysom Hill. Theres something they are really good at, but not what theyve been chasing. DA isnt a HC, Taysom isnt a QB. But DA can coach a defense, and Hill can effect football games.

The last several years, I just havent cared to watch NFL games outside of the Saints. But yesterday Im watching multiple different games and its just bizarre how much different the NFL is when you watch other teams play.

I saw Miami go for it on 4th and 1 from their own 35. I saw GB go for it on 4th and 1 and get a 20 yard completion. I saw teams faking punts. Fake punt passes. MANY 4th and short attempts. I saw RISK. I dont know if you can teach a HC to weigh risk, understanding stealing a possession. But outside of the lack of energy, discipline, attention to detail, etc, etc this season - we havent assumed RISK as a means to steal a possession. Weve been in so many 4th and shorts that couldve shifted a game - and he has an absolute cheat code in Taysom Hill. He is your wildcat QB with power, he runs hard and he is your upback in punt formations. Theres just no excuse for putting a wet blanket on an offensive strength. And many of them havent been 4th and short from out side of the field. Its been 4th and short from the opposing 40 - to potentially ice a game, and we punt.

His biggest weakness is in game decisions. He coaches scared. And I hate that. Coaching scared leads to losses.

But kudos to him for showing some fire in the locker room.

Unfortunately, stuff like this will potentially earn him another year.

A victory over a team that wanted to be there even less than you did and was looking for any opportunity to quit. But yea Lily Allen whatever you say big boy NFL football.
What made Loomis look at this clown and say “ yea this is the guy “ ?
I’m also tired of hearing what a great DC he is. What the hell has he ever done without Payton holding his hand ?
