Derek Carr - Why People Dislike Him (IMO) (2 Viewers)

Yeah, because everyone from his teammates to the media just rave about the guy right? Only person that seems to like him is our all time losingest coach.

Outside of AK, Taysom and sometimes Taylor and Adebo, what players are people raving about on this team? What players have shown growth in the last 2 years? How many more have regressed? On offense we see lazy routes, dropped balls, bad blocking, bad timing and just general poor execution across the board. On defense, we see bad gap discipline and tackling (6th in rushing yards allowed), nobody getting to the QB (29th in sacks).

You're singling out one player when almost nobody else plays well either. When nobody plays well, it's a coaching problem. This isn't a defense of Carr, he IS playing poorly. I just can't accept that the focus of this years problems be on him. These problems already existed and he's just the latest punching bag because he's new and there were overblown expectation that he was going to move the team forward regardless of the other glaring problems.

Teams take on the personality of the coach and QB who should be the primary leaders. Ours are both clowns who no one respects or likes.

Carr has plenty of flaws, but I think he gets way too much hate and blame.

Drew Brees ruined this franchise forever.

He is the gold standard for competitiveness, leadership, hard work, dedication, and winning.

No one else will ever live up to Drew, and some segment of our fanbase will have vitriol for whoever we have under center, because they too, will fall short of the standards that Drew set.

You're wrong. This has nothing to do with the "Brees standard" and everything to do with... 150 MILLION DOLLARS! Seriously! When your team signs a QB for $150 MILLION!!!!!!! you would expect better play. I think we could get better QB play off of a practice squad QB. I would be disappointed with his play if we had signed him for the league minimum, let alone.... $150 MILLION! It's just grossly pathetic.

You must not really understand the salary cap. You just regurgitate the 150mil figure like it's REAL. He only has 100mil guaranteed. What that means is for 4 yrs he's only guaranteed 25mil a yr which puts him way down on the list of highest paid QBs

I don't debate that the 1st meal he had with his FAMILY was at Chipotle . You DO understand he had his wife and KIDS with him?
