Derek Carr - Why People Dislike Him (IMO) (1 Viewer)

My theory is.... If we had the #1 offense in the NFL, and we were leading the division by 4 games.... No one would care how he acts after a negative play. Just a theory though.
You can suck. You can be a jerk. But you can't suck and be a jerk. This is Carr's problem. He's both.

He's got some other things going for him. His toughness is admirable and underappreciated. But no one cares because he's not only not producing, he's insufferable while doing it.

Great pass Carr! Let’s make our Wide Reciver jump when 2 defenders are near on a 7 yard pass.

Even more ridiculousness. I;ve seen Brees throw that same pass to MT many times in the same position and NO ONE has ever made the claim you are making . PLUS the pass was where ONLY MT could get it , any lower and the DB may have had a chance at it. Another SMH

Do you know how many all pro O linemen have been drafted at 1 position and then excelled at another? . The Saints have about 4 just in the SP era. You yourself want to switch Penning to G LOL and only after really 1/2 a season under an awful Oline coach. You sir are a contradiction. My son Derek ?? what a lame attempt at humor . Maybe you should have watched McCoy's post game where he said " It was a misunderstanding , I lost my Cool " and he publicly apologized to DC. Got anything else you want to make up
I am not making it up. It happened. I did watch his postgame. He cannot tell the media that I wanted to kill my QB because he sucks. Ruiz was drafted under Sean. I know that Ruiz shouldn’t be playing Guard. That is the Saints front office. I know Derek Carr is terrible. I watched the game yesterday. Our first 19 plays were in the Carolina territory. We got no points. We snuffed the end zone once. Gripe missed the kick. That was with Kamara average 5 yards a carry. Your boy DC sucks

Here it is on twitter from Nick Underhill. It’s the first play in the Detroit game. Juwan Johnson’s was 28 yards down the field running a crossing route without a defender! Go watch the tape!
LOL the only comment I see by NH is that the pass it JJ in the hands and it was all on the TE . Other stuff is just random twitter postings . LOL and the1st play in the Detroit game was where Stone hands Johnson couldn't catch and caused the INT. Maybe a lil less vodka before you post

Once again you have no facts to support your accusations . And are not worth my time

You have convinced me that I am wrong. Derek Carr is fire. That is why he won all those championships with the Raiders. Gosh he probably would have more if he didn’t have dismal players like Devate Adam’s, Josh Jacob’s, Darren Waller, Hunter Renfroe, Michael Crabtree, Amari Cooper, Latavius Murray. This dude didn’t have any weapons. No reason why he finish the 33rd worse QB in the red zone last year, and get benched? He didn’t have anybody throw to, or hand off. Poor Derek!

OMG, do you want me to do a power point and source APA style! Bobby Hebert brought it up in the coaches show at 5 o
clock today. Go watch the first 19 Offensivr snaps from yesterday.

I saw Bree’s throw the ball at his hands and helmet! If you think that is a good pass by a NFL QB. I now know the intelligence I am actually doing a back and forth too! I apologies to the Universe for just pointing out a few things. God bells your soul

With each new DA thread I read, the more I feel like pounding my head into a wall. :banghead: It's been a long time since the SSF has felt so hopeless over the direction of our Saints; and rightfully so! None of us ever wanted to see our team so ravaged by poor leadership and team performance. And as badly as we want it fixed, we all know that there is nothing personally that any of us can really do about it. Even when we win, it feels like we are still losers! And the reality of this dumpster fire is making me crazy!

Ever since we had a taste of the NFL 'good life', it's really been hard to accept going back to the starting line. I (for one) no longer expect to win football games... even against the weaker teams. In fact, most of us are predicting only misery for as long as certain members of the staff & team have prominent roles in the future of the Saints. And I believe that we are right! The current leadership is dreadful and it leaves us with nothing left to do but to complain about what we no longer are as a football team.

I'll admit, I haven't been this pessimistic about the Saints since before the Mora years. :covri: No one expected the Saints to crumble to the state we now find the team. Especially with what we previously believe to be a pretty good supply of talent on both sides of the ball. But if we truly have the talent; then we lack the leadership. If the leadership is there; then the players simply can't be as good as we thought. Personally I think the real issue is a little of both. But the sad part is that these things may not change anytime soon. It's a miserable feeling... and I just wasn't ready for it.

I'll also admit that I was in favor of grabbing Carr to be our new QB. I also didn't think that Grupe was a bad choice to be our kicker. I didn't really see enough of Hedley to know if we were getting a good punter or not. I expected to see a better running game, an improved pass rush, and a reliable receiving corps that would ensure that offensive drives would continue all the way to the endzone. With our cupcake schedule in 2023 I expected to see the return of 40-burger victories galore. Instead our goal each week is the hope of breaking the 20 point barrier. DA keeps rolling snake eyes. What a collapse! :mad1:

All I can say at this point is that I really want the Saints to turn back into a contender. I want our team to have a chance to win decisively in every game they play. I want whatever it takes to make the Saints a winning organization that we can all be proud of and can compete for championships again! This kind of losing can no longer be an acceptable. Other teams have been able to return to the glory they formerly basked in. I want that again, and I want it sooner than later. And I know that you folks want it too! Is anyone else as miserable about the state of our team as I am feeling right now?
That was a solid read. I feel largely the same way. I can handle losing because of subpar players. The draft is always a gamble and even the good GMs don't have a great record picking them. Over the years I think Ireland has done a fine job scouting and has found some real gems. Free agents aren't always a good fit either but a good GM at least has an idea as to what vision the coaches have for a player before signing them.

What I can't handle is a bad coaching staff. They are the foundation of everything the team does from camp until the end of the season. They are the task masters, the researchers and the teachers. They are responsible for getting the team ready to play. When they don't do their jobs, nobody else can either. That is why AK's interview at his locker was so jarring for me. He knows they need to get better, he wants the coaches to tell them how and he's not getting that even when explicitly asking for it. Nobody is getting it. We only have one unit that seems ready to play every week and that is Special Teams. Sure they made some bad choices when it came to kicker and punter, but that unit generally looks competent week to week. The offense and defense 3/4 of the way through the season both look like generic Payton preseason units. No match up specific game plans, just boring base formations every single game. It drives me insane to watch the absolute lack of creativity.

So, I will join you in being miserable for as long as the mistake of keeping the remnants of Payton's staff remain. He WAS the system, they were simply doing what they were told and don't have any fresh ideas of their own. Loomis owns this mess. He is the only one with the power to fix it. At this point, he can go too if he can't do the job that everyone knows needs to be done.

Are you kidding with this? THIS is the play MT got hurt that everyone is calling a hospital ball? I see throws, catches and hits like that every single week. That is football. Hate the guy all you want, but that is standard football when players can't get separation from defenders.

Does it not start and stop with him eating Chipotle on his first day in New Orleans?

Sums up his entire tenure here, really.

He is just here to throw passes and collect a paycheck. He doesn't want to hear any critical words either.

Things I like about Carr
1. He will play through injuries.
2. When healthy he can make all the throws
3. Yells at lazy and stupid people when they repeatedly screw up - the Oline was just beyond awful this weekend

Things I don't like
1. He's expensive
2. He has not played 4 good quarters in a row all season
3. He panics in the pocket and checks down too much and moves around too much
4. His passes seem to lack accuracy and there is no RAC happening
5. Eye liner
6. Seems phoney in interviews... He is like the arse kisser at work
7. Footwork is terrible
8. HE IS NOT USING HIS PROGRESSIONS
9. His numbers this year are terrible
10. His contract stops us from making improvements

This is about as MORONIC a post as I've seen almost as the TROLL that said his palette was trash. You DON"T know the guy but YOU publicly TRASH his character SMH
Yeah, because everyone from his teammates to the media just rave about the guy right? Only person that seems to like him is our all time losingest coach.
