I don't know what they've done, but man, this is a big dissapointment. I get on here every morning, expecting to read what everybody wrote from the over night and I see this junk. Man, bring back the way it was yesterday. This sucks.

Lol, bet ya 10 bucks you cannot find a sharper board on the entire internet. (and its not even chromed out yet)

Andrus, heck of a job. the new look is crisp and the colors are more vibrant but I don't see the spell check. maybe I need to play with it a little more but I think this way cool dude.

BNG91, click on the "go advanced" button on the quick links to get to the smilie list, or just hit "Post Reply" on the left under the last post to get the full reply options.

Yeah those smiles are pretty cool, but I remember a big list of smiles that had it's own link. Like the pukey smiles, muscle man smiles, smileys holding a sign smiles, pickle doing a dance smile, pink elephant smiles and all of that good stuff.

Some of the new features I have found. Well actually, I am not sure if all of these are "new" since I might have overlooked them on the old site.

-When you post in a thread, you become "subscribed" to that thread. You get a little box to the left of the date on the thread index so you know where you have posted.

-Rep. It's been talked about already here and other threads.

-There is a "go to last post" button next to the last person to posts name in the thread index.

-The quick reply box now.

-You can change the default number of posts shown per page to a larger number (some like this so don't have to click to page 2)

-You can turn off images and avatars. This is really nice for me since sometimes I view the forum from my in-laws dialup.

-You can change the editor from a plain one to a full on WYSIWYG editor.

Overall, the thing feels much snappier. Don't know if that is because there aren't many posts meaning the SQL tables take less time to search through. Probably that and other tweaks. That's all I can find... how about you? See anything else?

Does anyone remember the last time the forum changed? I believe there was a big uproar then also. And back when it switched from IronEra to SR.com? Another big uproar. I expect it will take some people a little while to adjust, but in about a week or so, we'll all forget what the old site even looked like.

Hey Big A, any way we can have some flash-backs to olden times? Maybe a screenshot of the older forum (Not the last one, but the one before that), and then perhaps a shot of how IronEra used to look? Just kind of a walk down memory lane...Is that possible, cause I think that would be awesome. Anyone remember me back when I was "TeenSaint" on IronEra?...Sigh. To be that young again. Thinking Ditka and Troy Davis would lead us to the promised land.

Some of the long-term members can remember back to that summer when we went through three different forums trying to find one that would handle the traffic! We had to re-register, lose posts, lose post counts. Now THAT was a pain (mostly for Andrus!)
