Dos and Don’ts of Kitchen Fires (8 Viewers)

Basically, don't throw water on a grease fire. But it only showed what to do if a pan of grease on a stovetop catches fire. Seems a grease fire from a fried turkey would be a bit more complicated.

It is. DO NOT FRY TURKEYS INSIDE ON A DECK OR IN A GARAGE.

Fry them outside over grass or sand. Make sure there is no nearby dry vegetation. Keep a 5 gallon bucket of sand nearby just in case.

Do not try to hose it out and make sure to never let your grease get too hot or overfill it and make it spill over the edge.

every Youtube video I've watched on this matter is either in a foreign language or has horrible audio balance

My BIL is a fireman and he says next to New Years Thanksgiving is the second busiest day of the year. He says the biggest two culprits for the turkey frying are too much oil and leaving it unattended while cooking.

That time of year again.

Have a Happy and safe Thanksgiving everyone!

I would've thought July 4 was a pretty big day. Surprising.

I uploaded it to youtube, but hopefully it won't get yanked too quick.

Have a safe & Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Bumping for another year.

Be safe everyone!!!!

Good bump.

I just purchased some new extinguishers. Everyone should have a couple handy and know where they are. Be safe and don't over eat. Oh and if there are any outdoor turkey frying fires, be sure to post the pics. :hihi:

I just came to bump myself.

Glad we're able to keep this going for 6 years now

Have a Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
