Draft or Trade Down (14 Viewers)

Trading 9 for 12 would probably only net us a 3rd, maybe a 2nd with trading another pick of ours. At that point taking Jeanty's probably more valuable for us.
I disagree, Jeanty while the best RB in the draft I don't think is worthy of the #9 pick. If it came down to where Carter , T-Mac or Grahem are gone and we could not trade down and had to make a pick I'd take Warren he would be more valuable to us than Jeanty

Were is everyone getting there info on these players? Or is it just from watching games?

I would trade down no matter who fell to us at #9 if the haul is good. The better the player to fall, the better the bounty. I think a trade back into the late teens or early 20s, plus a 2nd and a 3rd, and a pick next year would be ideal. We really need to recoup some of the picks we've traded away over the past 5 years. We've drafted the least amount of players of any team over that period and our depth shows it. We need as many 1st, 2nd and 3rd rounders as we can get.

Great short narrative.

‘Nuff sed. 🤔

We still have the combine and pro days not only is there a chance for someone to move up into rd1 talent, there is the chance someone we all think is a shoe in for rd1 talent to fall back into rd2 talent

Just hope we have a big board and stick to it even it means passing up some of our biggest needs rather draft players that make the team over players that are cut before next year's draft

Sanders. Sanders should tank.

I can see the Browns drafting him in the 1st and somehow Deshuan Watson is actually better.

Watching games first and foremost. I also look at DraftBuzz, PFF and ProFootballNetwork. But often they're way off or stating something that is entirely false about a player. Just an example, they all said Tyler Warren couldn't block in the run game and was a 2nd or 3rd round pick in December which blew my mind on how inaccurate and wild it was. Now they all have him going top 15, and some have him going top 10 and claim he's good at run blocking. All along I've been saying he's the best pass catcher in this draft that can also help in the run block game.

Another is in December they were all calling for Dart to be a possible day 3 pick and I thought that was garbage. I even posted a couple times about it. Then the Senior Bowl comes along and now's he's a 1st round pick and some even have him going as high as 3rd overall to the Giants yet those websites still state he's a day 2 pick. I would be more surprised if he doesn't leap Sanders to be the 2nd QB off the board, and has a possibility to be 1st overall if he puts up a strong combine/pro day.

It's almost as if those websites guess a lot along the way, and get updated by scouts as the process goes on and never watch the players themselves.

More likely to see us trade up instead of down.
I would normally agree with this and NORMALLY I would agree.. I LOVE trading UP normally.. I so much prefer getting one stud as opposed to 2 pretty good players.... Whether we have been successful or not is an absolutely great question and debate.. But that has been our philosophy and I liked it

But this year MY take for what it is worth (nothing) it is time to trade down. I am ready for the rebuild and 2 pretty good players this year is the way to go imho

Im 55 yrs old and Ive never seen a year where trading down would be more appropriate.

We don't deserve a top ten pick. Every single position needs an upgrade!

I have no life; hence ting I've been sitting around playing with the draft simulators. It's undoubtedly the way to go.

Plus, the Saints probably hit on more 2nd and 3rd rounders than they do 1st rounders percentage wise.

but we probably won't because of two words: Mickey Loomis.

its just not in his vocabulary

I think that's less about Loomis getting what he wants and more about Loomis getting the head coach what they're asking for. If Moore comes in and wants to acquire more capitol, I think Loomis obliges.

Loomis's biggest job (and may be the only thing he does regarding draft) is to ensure value.
CLAP CLAP. Absolutely Agree. Any GM and especially Loomis knows, You hire a new coach, you give up a bit of your influence you may have had with past coaches. His success is going to depend on what he sees, and how he sees it, and how he wants to approach the draft, and what he feels he needs.. I would like to think the GM/Coach scenario during a draft is likely GM: Coach give me your top 3/4 picks so we can look at the numbers. After that, it is likely depending on how the rounds, trades, etc go, The Coach perhaps may give the GM more lead way as to the choices he's planning on because of the cap numbers. bottom 3 rounds VERY Seldom result in a play making the team or having a huge impact. Just a thought.

I’d trade back with Denver ideally picking up their 2nd this year. It would allow Payton to come up and get Jeanty or Warren depending on his preference. The team needs talent and the more picks the better. It’d be nice to trade back to 20 and then have a team want to move back into the first and grab dart, with the 5th year option being appealing, allowing us to gather more picks as well for this year/ next year.
