Rickboy, do you think your love of your job is a reflection of working at Perot overall, or specific to your case? The only opinion I've heard of Perot is from a former, disgruntled employee. So, I toss that out due to obvious bias, but I've wondered how things are there. Just curious since you never know when you'll be looking around. :)

Hey guys- It's been fun to read the responses on this thread so far, but would ya'll mind indicating what field you're in and what type of work you do, so we can get a better picture of where you're coming from with your answers? As for me, I voted "Mostly OK" becuase that's the closest to how I feel.. I can't say "I Love It" just yet (I'm pretty new), but I really like it. I'm a Sales Manager for a company in the Building/Construction Industry and I love the flexibility I have; I'm very autonomous and it's almost like running my own business without the risk/downside. Of course, my situation is unique because I'm the only Rep. in my area, so I'm pretty much left alone- as long as I produce.

I'm a Senior Project Manager for Westwood ONE. I'm on the technical end so I don't mess with the actual radio stuff. I work directly with our clients so I get to do a lot of traveling and work from home whenever I want.

love my job. Always interesting. I handle commercial insurance. ( General Liability, Commercial property, Work comp etc ) Always something new. Example I handle the Auto, Gen Liability and Cargo for a company out Alexandria that transports Monkeys. ( pharma testing ) Its never the "Same" with the exception of recent times with all the contractors needing coverage to work or get licensed.

And I spend half my day here to boot!!!! without a boss looking over my shoulder. pretty cool

I'm a Senior Software Test Engineer, working for a medium-sized telecom company that makes Voice over IP equipment and software.

Is that the group that had a few monkeys escape after an accident a few months ago either in New Orleans or Houston? :mwink:

Most of the time I love my job. I can't complain at all with my supervisor...or for that matter his boss or his boss' boss. They've done nothing but be supportive of me when I have military duty and/or when things come up with the family. Heck, I even got a nice "merit" raise this month...and they see this website dang near every time they walk by. :D

I like my job but I have a distaste for some of my clients (presennt company excluded, of course). And my boss is a real tool.

I do data processing for direct mail fundraising for non-profits, policial organizations and candidates. i love that it's my company and it allows me some flexibility, but sometimes, it's a ton of work all at once. but the industry pricing is still based on the days when you needed a million dollar mainframe to do it and I do it on PC's :9:

So tell me,how does it feel to be in the upper tax bracket? You're probably like Super Steve.... pressed white collar shirts, fancy ties, italian shoes..steaks,seafood,fine wines and cheeses for lunch? You pencil pushers/keyboard pressers must have college degrees...

No degree here. I love my job, but that's because of the way I do it.

I actually like my job a lot. I get to travel a lot (once in a blue moon, out of the country, which was a whole lot more fun when I was single and didn't have a family to miss, but still, the breaks away from home are great for everyone involved sometime. I am pretty much my own boss and can work from home whenever I want. Pay is good and it is never the same thing twice, always something new when dealing with new clients and new facilites.
I am a Senior Project Manager for a medical software company that deals with Anesthesia solutions.
