I think it’s just more this general response to “DEI” that’s become in vogue among the right chatter these days. They’re not blaming the pilot of that Alaska plane specifically- but they are saying that Boeing’s DEI policy must be why the door blew out.

And they’re also basically saying that DEI makes air travel dangerous because minorities aren’t as capable.

Nevermind that there are countless famous minority aviators - and people like Katherine Johnson (who led the critical mathematics team that made the moon landing possible) graduated from an HBCU.

I think he is saying that a company should put safety above all else in a company that is responsible for the lives of so many people.
