Elon Musk makes $43 Billion offer for private buyout of Twitter (32 Viewers)

Notwithstanding his undercutting of his own message by the prominently displayed book over his shoulder, it is a good message and so I'm going to leave this post up...for now.

Guys, please don't take this in a partisan politics direction (although, ironically, we might still have a Politics board on this site if everyone actually followed this guy's advice in a sincere way).

that was my wife's question - why are these epic losers the ones running things
I didn't have an answer for her

Most of it is tech money, a lot of it from Web 1.0 days or earlier. Tech industry at that time had a not unearned reputation for being a haven socially awkward weirdos.

Turns out when they get a bunch of money and power, they get a lot of new bad traits while maintaining their preexisting ones.

wait...are you saying the jocks were right all along?

Well, they've had their turn at the wheel and it hasn't exactly been spectacular.

But the nerds were allegedly supposed to be better. Turns out they weren't. And are maybe more vindictive.
true
i'm nervous now that they're going to ask experimental performance artist to take a crack at it

I watched them too. People see what they want to see man. In a thread full of people bashing Musk what do you think they are going to see?
well, post them side by side and let's see..
literally he has retweeted some anti sementic stuff.... that matters do you disagree?
Musk had a mostly favorable approval from most people until he bought Twitter and we learned his day to day thoughts.. THAT is what lead to bashing of him and it's all 100% self inflicted..

Seriously considering divesting myself of some, or all, of the TSLA that i bought almost 10 yrs ago.. im sick of this dude’s shenanigans .. in theory i guess id be putting “principles” ahead of my bank account.. but tbh im not sure once this guy does even more stupid ish that his companies’ stock wont drop b/c of it, so it wouldnt be entirely altruistic on my part.. would i be a moron to sell ?
